前記送信されるべきフレームのコピーのうち未だ送信されていないコピーの数を表わすコピー数をマルチコピーキャッシュに維持するステップと、
前記マルチコピーキャッシュを参照して、送信される前記フレームのコピーが、送信される前記フレームの最後のコピーであるかどうかの判断を送信前に試みるステップと、
送信される前記フレームのコピーが、送信される前記フレームの最後のコピーであると判断された場合には、各バッファの内容が前記ネットワークスイッチから送信されることに応答して、前記フレームをストアするバッファをバッファ単位で再要求するステップと、
送信される前記フレームのコピーが、送信される前記フレームの最後のコピーではないと判断された場合には、前記フレームが前記ネットワークスイッチから送信されることに応答して、前記フレームのコピーの送信を示す表示を前記マルチコピーキューに維持するステップと、

- 前記コピー数と、前記送信されるフレームの複数のコピーに関する各フレームの前記フレームポインタとを、前記キューとして維持された表示として同じキューにキューとして維持するステップと、前記キューの出力を検査するステップと、前記キューの出力が複数のコピーフレームに関する前記コピー数および前記フレームポインタである場合には、前記複数のコピーフレームに関する前記コピー数および前記フレームポインタを探索可能なメモリにロードするステップと、前記キューの出力がキューとして維持された表示である場合には、送信される前記フレームのコピーが送信される前記フレームの最後のコピーであるかどうかの判断を試みる前記ステップを行なうステップとをさらに含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 判断を試みる前記ステップは、前記キューとして維持された表示のフレームポインタと一致するフレームポインタを求めてメモリ内を探索し、前記キューとして維持された表示のフレームポインタと一致する、前記フレームポインタに関連した前記コピー数を検査するステップを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
