Description
また、4気筒エンジンの4本から2本へ、2本から1本へ段階的に集合される排気通路を備えた排気装置において、前記触媒コンバータの隔壁により、2本の排気通路を実質的に延長することができるから、エンジンの中速域でエンジン出力が向上する。
本発明の好ましい実施形態では、前記触媒コンバータの上流側または下流側の少なくとも一方に、排気通路を形成する排気管体の内部に設けられて排気ガスの流れ方向に沿って延び、排気通路を複数に区画する仕切り板を設けている。この構成によれば、仕切り板によって、前記排気通路上流部または排気通路下流部の長さを容易に調整することができる。

Claims (4)
- 4気筒エンジンに接続された4本の排気導出管と、
各2本の前記排気導出管の下流端部に1つずつ連結された2つの中間排気管と、
前記2つの中間排気管の下流端部に連結された単一の集合排気管と、を備え、
前記集合排気管内に、前記触媒コンバータが配置され、
前記触媒コンバータの上流端の2つの領域に2つの排気通路上流部のそれぞれが連通し、
前記触媒コンバータは、排気ガスの流れ方向に沿って延び、前記2つの中間排気管からの排気ガスを互いに混じることなく通過させる隔壁を有している自動二輪車の排気装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記集合排気管は、断面半円形状の両側部から耳部を突設させてなる一対の半円形プレートが、前記耳部同士で重合された構造である自動二輪車の排気装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記触媒コンバータの上流側または下流側の少なくとも一方に、排気通路を形成する排気管体の内部に設けられて排気ガスの流れ方向に沿って延び、排気通路を複数に区画する仕切り板を設けている自動二輪車の排気装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記中間排気管の下流端が前記触媒コンバータの上流端の直前まで延長されている自動二輪車の排気装置。
