Claims (3)
- 複数の加入者端末ごとにそれぞれ割り当てられる複数のアクセス回線により形成される加入者網と公衆網との網間接続点よりも前記加入者網側に配置され、前記加入者網と、前記公衆網と、前記公衆網とは通信プロトコルの異なる情報通信網とに接続されるネットワーク接続装置であって、
前記加入者網に接続されて前記複数のアクセス回線を終端する加入者網インタフェース手段と、
予め設計される通信容量の接続回線を介して前記公衆網に接続され前記接続回線を終端する公衆網インタフェース手段と、
前記公衆網および前記情報通信網と前記複数のアクセス回線のそれぞれとの間の通信経路を交換接続する交換手段と、
前記接続回線の通信容量に基づいて前記交換手段における前記通信経路の接続状態を制御する制御手段と、
前記交換手段と前記情報通信網との間に設けられ、当該情報通信網とこの情報通信網に接続されるアクセス回線との間で授受される信号の形態を、前記情報通信網の通信プロトコルおよび前記加入者網の通信プロトコルにそれぞれ適した形態に変換する信号変換手段と、
前記信号変換手段により前記情報通信網の通信プロトコルに適した形態に変換された信号を当該情報通信網における宛先に向け経路制御して送出するスイッチング手段と、
前記加入者網インタフェース手段と、前記公衆網インタフェース手段と、前記制御手段と、前記信号変換手段と、前記スイッチング手段との間での情報通信を、標準化された汎用LAN(Local Area Network)を用いて媒介する情報通信手段とを具備し、
前記情報通信手段は、
前記汎用LANを介して前記加入者網インタフェース手段に接続される第1LANスイッチと、
前記汎用LANを介して前記公衆網インタフェース手段に接続される第2LANスイッチと、
前記汎用LANを介して前記制御手段に接続される第3LANスイッチと、
前記汎用LANを介して前記信号変換手段に接続される第4LANスイッチとを備え、
前記第1乃至第4スイッチは前記汎用LANを介して互いに接続され、自己の動作状態を自律的にモニタし、その結果を前記汎用LANを介して前記制御手段に通知する通知手段を備えることを特徴とする記載のネットワーク接続装置。 - 前記情報通信網がパケット通信網である場合に、前記汎用LANは当該パケット通信網と共通のフレーム構造を持つパケットを伝送し、
前記スイッチング手段は、前記パケットのヘッダに記載されるアドレス情報を変換することにより前記汎用LANと前記情報通信網との間での情報通信を仲介することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のネットワーク接続装置。 - 前記汎用LANはイーサネット(登録商標)であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のネットワーク接続装置。
