Description
ΔVS=ΔVbias×Csub/(Cs+Csub)
この様にしてドライブトランジスタTrdのゲートGを基準電位Vrefに接地した状態で、ソースSにマイナスカップリングΔVSを入れることができる。このカップリングでVgs>Vthとなるようにバイアス線BSの電位差ΔVbiasを設定しておく。この様にすることでドライブトランジスタTrdをオン状態におくことができ、その後の閾電圧補正動作が可能になる。
ΔVS=ΔVbias×Csub/(Cs+Csub)
この様にしてドライブトランジスタTrdのゲートGをVssLに接地した状態で、ソースSにマイナスのカップリング電圧ΔVSを入れることができる。カップリングでVgs>Vthとなるようにバイアス線BSの電位を設定しておくことで、その後に続く閾電圧補正動作が可能になる。
Claims (6)
- 画素アレイ部と駆動部とからなり、
前記画素アレイ部は、行状の走査線と、列状の信号線と、各走査線と各信号線とが交差する部分に配された行列状の画素とを備え、
各画素は、少なくともサンプリングトランジスタと、ドライブトランジスタと、発光素子と、保持容量とを備え、
前記サンプリングトランジスタは、その制御端が該走査線に接続し、その一対の電流端が該信号線と該ドライブトランジスタの制御端との間に接続し、
前記ドライブトランジスタは、一対の電流端の一方が該発光素子に接続し、他方が電源ラインに接続し、
前記保持容量は該ドライブトランジスタの制御端と一方の電流端との間に接続しており、
前記駆動部は、各走査線に順次制御信号を供給するとともに、各信号線に映像信号を供給し、以って該ドライブトランジスタの閾電圧に相当する電圧を該保持容量に保持する補正動作を行い、続いて該映像信号を該保持容量に書き込む書込動作を行う表示装置であって、
前記画素アレイ部は、各走査線と並行に配されたバイアス線を有し、
各画素は、該ドライブトランジスタの一方の電流端と該バイアス線との間に接続した補助容量を含み、
前記駆動部は、該補正動作の前に該バイアス線の電位を切り換えて該補助容量を介してカップリング電圧を該ドライブトランジスタの一方の電流端に加え、以って該ドライブトランジスタの制御端と一方の電流端との間の電位差を該閾電圧よリ大きくなる様に初期化する準備動作を行うことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記駆動部は、該準備動作を行う時、該信号線を基準電位に保持する一方該サンプリングトランジスタをオンして該ドライブトランジスタの制御端に該基準電位を書き込むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記画素は該書込動作の中で該ドライブトランジスタの一対の電流端の間に流れる電流を該保持容量に負帰還し、以って該保持容量に書き込まれる映像信号に対して該ドライブトランジスタの移動度に応じた補正をかけることを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記画素は、該書込動作の後、該保持容量に保持された映像信号に応じて該ドライブトランジスタの該一方の電流端から該発光素子に駆動電流を供給し、
前記駆動部は該書込動作の後該サンプリングトランジスタをオフして該ドライブトランジスタの制御端を該信号線から切り離し、以って該ドライブトランジスタの一方の電流端の電位変動に対して該ドライブトランジスタの制御端の電位が追従するブートストラップ動作を可能にしたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示装置。 - 画素アレイ部と駆動部とからなり、
前記画素アレイ部は、行状の走査線と、列状の信号線と、各走査線と各信号線とが交差する部分に配された行列状の画素と、各走査線と並行に配されたバイアス線とを備え、
各画素は、少なくともサンプリングトランジスタと、ドライブトランジスタと、発光素子と、保持容量と、補助容量とを備え、
前記サンプリングトランジスタは、その制御端が該走査線に接続し、その一対の電流端が該信号線と該ドライブトランジスタの制御端との間に接続し、
前記ドライブトランジスタは、一対の電流端の一方が該発光素子に接続し、他方が電源ラインに接続し、
前記保持容量は該ドライブトランジスタの制御端と一方の電流端との間に接続し、
前記補助容量は、該ドライブトランジスタの一方の電流端と該バイアス線との間に接続している表示装置の駆動方法であって、
前記駆動部は、各走査線に順次制御信号を供給するとともに、各信号線に映像信号を供給し、以って該ドライブトランジスタの閾電圧に相当する電圧を該保持容量に保持する補正動作を行い、続いて該映像信号を該保持容量に書き込む書込動作を行うとともに、
該補正動作の前に該バイアス線の電位を切り換えて該補助容量を介してカップリング電圧を該ドライブトランジスタの一方の電流端に加え、以って該ドライブトランジスタの制御端と一方の電流端との間の電位差を該閾電圧より大きくなる様に初期化する準備動作を行うことを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。 - 請求項1に記載の表示装置を備えた電子機器。
