この形態の燃料電池用積層体の製造方法によれば、バックシート上に、離型層、電解質膜、電極層をこの順で積層した第1積層体の電極層上にガス拡散層を接合し、その後、バックシートを剥離して第3積層体を得る際に、接合温度を170℃未満とすると共に、張力Xと搬送速度Yとが(1)式を満たすようにしている。そのため、バックシートを剥離する第3工程の完了後において、第3積層体における電解質膜表面に離型層の少なくとも一部が付着することを抑えることができる。
(2)上記形態の燃料電池用積層体の製造方法において、前記接合温度は、110℃よりも高いこととしてもよい。この形態の燃料電池用積層体の製造方法によれば、第1積層体とガス拡散層との接合強度を高め、第3工程におけるバックシートの剥離後の、電解質膜および電極層とガス拡散層との接合状態を、良好にすることができる。
(3)上記形態の燃料電池用積層体の製造方法において、前記張力Xは、3N以下であることとしてもよい。この形態の燃料電池用積層体の製造方法によれば、搬送速度Yを速くして、燃料電池用積層体の生産性を高めることができる。
本開示は、種々の形態で実現することが可能である。例えば、上記形態の燃料電池用積層体の製造方法によって製造された燃料電池積層体、その燃料電池用積層体を備える燃料電池、上記形態の燃料電池用積層体の製造方法の各工程を備える燃料電池の製造方法、上記形態の燃料電池用積層体の製造方法の各工程に対応した処理部を備える燃料電池用積層体の製造装置等の形態で実現することができる。
図1は、本開示の実施形態の燃料電池を構成する単セル10の概略構成を表わす断面模式図である。本実施形態の燃料電池は、水素を含有する燃料ガスおよび酸素を含有する酸化ガスの供給を受けて発電する固体高分子形燃料電池である。燃料電池は、複数の単セル10が積層されて構成される。
図2は、本実施形態の燃料電池用積層体としての第3積層体54の製造方法を表わす工程図である。また、図3は、第3積層体54の製造工程の一部を表わす説明図である。本実施形態では、第3積層体54を構成するための各層を、ロールツーロール方式によって連続搬送しつつ、第3積層体54を製造する。図3では、各層を搬送する方向を、矢印によって示している。以下では、図2に基づいて、図3を参照しつつ、第3積層体54の製造方法を説明する。
上記実施形態では、第1積層体50は、アノード21を備えており、第2工程においてアノード21上にガス拡散層23を接合したが、異なる構成としてもよい。第1工程で用意する第1積層体は、アノード21に代えてカソード22を備えており、第2工程においてカソード22上にガス拡散層24を接合することとしてもよい。このような構成としても、第2工程における接合温度を170℃未満とすると共に、BS張力Xと搬送速度Yとが(1)式を満たすことで、実施形態と同様の効果が得られる。
Claims (3)
- 電解質膜と電極層とガス拡散層とを積層した燃料電池用積層体を、ロールツーロール方式により製造する燃料電池用積層体の製造方法であって、
バックシート上に、離型層、前記電解質膜、前記電極層をこの順で積層して成る第1積層体を用意する第1工程と、
前記第1積層体の前記電極層上に前記ガス拡散層を積層し、加熱および加圧によって前記第1積層体と前記ガス拡散層とを接合して、第2積層体を得る第2工程と、
前記第2積層体から前記バックシートを剥離して、第3積層体を得る第3工程と、
を備え、
前記第2工程において前記第1積層体と前記ガス拡散層とを接合する際の接合温度は、170℃未満であって、
前記第3工程において剥離する前記バックシートに加える張力X(N)と、前記第2工程から前記第3工程までを連続的に実行する際の搬送速度Y(m/min)とが、以下の(1)式を満たす
