Abstract
Description
ラテックス及びインクの粒径は、150〜250nmの範囲内で低く、試料が室温で約1ヶ月間保管されるとき、変化しないままである。これは、ラテックス中のイオン性官能基が、ラテックス粒子を水中で効果的に安定化させることを確認する。
Claims (20)
- 非多孔質基材上にインクジェット印刷するための水性インク組成物を形成するための方法であって、
芳香族官能基、水素結合基、可撓性側鎖、及びイオン性官能基を有する、一次ポリマーラテックスを調製することと、
前記一次ポリマーラテックスを、二次ラテックス結合剤並びに1つ以上の共溶媒及び添加剤と混合することと、を含む、方法。 - 前記水素結合基を有する前記一次ポリマーラテックスを調製することが、
ヒドロキシル基、アミン基、又はアミド基のうちの1つ以上を含む分子で、前記一次ポリマーラテックスを化学修飾することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記分子が、環状分子又は芳香族分子に結合された官能基を含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記分子が、尿素、アラントイン、又はチラミンのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記可撓性側鎖を有する前記一次ポリマーラテックスを調製することが、
ブチル(butyle)、ヘキシル、オクチル、又はデシルのうちの少なくとも1つの側鎖を有する分岐状アルキルで、前記一次ポリマーラテックスを化学修飾することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記イオン性官能基を有する前記一次ポリマーラテックスを調製することが、
カルボン酸、スルホン酸、又はアンモニウムのうちの少なくとも1つで、前記一次ポリマーラテックスを化学修飾することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 調製される前記一次ポリマーラテックスが、5〜40重量パーセントの前記水性インク組成物中の固形分を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記二次ラテックス結合剤が、5〜20重量パーセントの前記水性インク組成物中の固形分を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記一次ポリマーラテックスが、ポリスチレンのコポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記二次ラテックス結合剤が、ポリウレタン、ポリアミド、ポリエステル、ポリオキシエチレン、又はポリビニルアルコールのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ以上の共溶媒が、プロピレングリコールを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記プロピレングリコールが、プロピレングリコールメチルエーテル、プロピレングリコールn−プロピルエーテル、又はジプロピレングリコールメチルエーテルのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 非多孔質基材上にインクジェット印刷するための水性インク組成物であって、
5〜40重量%の官能化一次ラテックスであって、
芳香族官能基と、
水素結合基と、
可撓性側鎖と、
イオン性官能基と、を含む、官能化一次ラテックスと、
5〜20重量%の二次ラテックス結合剤と、
1つ以上の共溶媒と、を含み、前記水性インク組成物が、25℃で10ミリパスカル秒(mPa・s)未満の粘度を含む、水性インク組成物。 - 前記官能化一次ラテックスが、100〜300ナノメートル(nm)の粒径を有するアンモニアを有するポリスチレンの低毒性コポリマーを含む、請求項13に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 前記二次ラテックス結合剤が、ポリウレタン、ポリアミド、ポリエステル、ポリオキシエチレン、又はポリビニルアルコールのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項13に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 前記1つ以上の共溶媒が、プロピレングリコールを含む、請求項13に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 前記プロピレングリコールが、プロピレングリコールメチルエーテル、プロピレングリコールn−プロピルエーテル、又はジプロピレングリコールメチルエーテルのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項16に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 前記水素結合基が、環状分子又は芳香族分子に結合された官能基を含む分子を含む、請求項13に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 前記可撓性側鎖が、ブチル、ヘキシル、オクチル、又はデシルのうちの少なくとも1つの側鎖を有する分岐状アルキルを含む、請求項13に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 非多孔質基材上にインクジェット印刷するための水性インク組成物を形成するための方法であって、
50ミリリットル(mL)のアセトン中の10グラム(g)のポリスチレン−alt−無水マレイン酸(2,300の数平均分子量(Mn))の混合物を、3.9gの32ミリモル(mmol)のオクチルアミンと組み合わせることと、
前記混合物を室温で24時間撹拌することと、
ヒドロキシル及びアミド含有化合物をジメチルスルホキシド中に溶解させることと、
前記ジメチルスルホキシド中に溶解した前記ヒドロキシル及びアミド含有化合物を前記混合物に添加し、24時間撹拌して、官能化ポリマーを生成することと、
前記官能化ポリマーを撹拌しながら水中に添加することによって、ラテックスを調製することと、
官能化されるラテックスを、二次ラテックス、共溶媒、pH調整剤、少なくとも1つの界面活性剤、及び接着促進剤と組み合わせることによって、水性インク組成物を調製することと、を含む、方法。
