Abstract
【解決手段】ガスを発生させるインフレータと、上記インフレータの取り付け孔が設けられたベース布と、上記ベース布の車両後方側に配置され乗員を拘束する乗員保護布と、を有し、上記乗員保護布と上記ベース布のそれぞれの外周が連結されたエアバッグと、を備え、上記乗員保護布は、車幅方向の少なくとも一方の外周に沿って配置され、車両後方側に突出する突出部と、上記突出部と連続し、上記乗員に当接する平面部と、上記エアバッグ内であって上記突出部よりも上記ベース布側に配置され、上記平面部から上記乗員保護布及び上記ベース布の連結部まで伸びるテザーと、を有し、上記テザーの上記連結部側の端部は、上記突出部の基端と上記ベース布の外周とに連結されているエアバッグ装置である。

Description
まず、図1及び2を用いて、実施形態1に係るエアバッグ装置の作動状態について説明する。なお、図1中に示された矢印FRは、車両前方を示し、矢印UPは、車両上方を示している。実施形態1に係るエアバッグ装置100は、インフレータ(ガス発生装置)101と、袋状のエアバッグ105とを少なくとも備え、助手席20の前方に位置するインストルメントパネル30の上面の内側に配置されている。車両が衝突したことを検知しエアバッグ装置100が作動すると、エアバッグ105は、インフレータ101が発生したガスにより急激に膨張する。そして、膨張したエアバッグ105は、インストルメントパネル30の上面を押し開き、車室内に飛び出して膨張展開し、衝突の衝撃で前方に移動した乗員10に当接する。
実施形態2のエアバッグ装置は、エアバッグを構成する平面部用基布の形状が実施形態1のエアバッグ装置とは異なり、平面部用基布にテザーを設ける代わりに、ベース布内の空間と突出部内の空間とを連通させる連通孔を設けたものである。
本発明のエアバッグ装置は、運転席の前方に配置され、運転席の乗員を保護するものであってもよい。運転席前方のエアバッグ装置の配置場所としては、ステアリング・ホイールの内側が好適である。実施形態3のエアバッグ装置は、ステアリング・ホイールの内側に配置する場合に好適なエアバッグであり、エアバッグの形状が実施形態1及び2のエアバッグ装置とは異なり、車両後方側(乗員側)から見て、略円形である。

Claims (4)
- 車両に取り付けられるエアバッグ装置であって、
ガスを発生させるインフレータと、
前記インフレータの取り付け孔が設けられたベース布と、前記ベース布の車両後方側に配置され乗員を拘束する乗員保護布と、を有し、前記乗員保護布と前記ベース布のそれぞれの外周が連結されたエアバッグと、を備え、
前記乗員保護布は、
車幅方向の少なくとも一方の外周に沿って配置され、車両後方側に突出する突出部と、
前記突出部と連続し、前記乗員に当接する平面部と、
前記エアバッグ内であって前記突出部よりも前記ベース布側に配置され、前記平面部から前記乗員保護布及び前記ベース布の連結部まで伸びるテザーと、を有し、
前記テザーの前記連結部側の端部は、前記突出部の基端と前記ベース布の外周とに連結されていることを特徴とするエアバッグ装置。 - 車両に取り付けられるエアバッグ装置であって、
ガスを発生させるインフレータと、
前記インフレータの取り付け孔が設けられたベース布と、前記ベース布の車両後方側に配置され乗員を拘束する乗員保護布と、を有し、前記ベース布と前記乗員保護布のそれぞれの外周が連結されたエアバッグと、を備え、
前記乗員保護布は、
前記ベース布の車両後方側を覆い、かつ連通孔が車幅方向の少なくとも一方に設けられた平面部と、
前記連通孔を車両後方側から覆うとともに前記車幅方向の少なくとも一方の外周に沿って設けられ、前記平面部から車両後方側に突出する突出部と、を有し、
前記乗員保護布の外周を構成する前記平面部の車幅方向の少なくとも一方の外周が、前記突出部の基端と前記ベース布の外周とに連結されていることを特徴とするエアバッグ装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載のエアバッグ装置であって、
前記平面部に乗員の頭部が接触した状態において、前記突出部の車両後方側先端は、乗員の頭部重心位置よりも車両後方側に位置することを特徴とするエアバッグ装置。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のエアバッグ装置であって、
前記突出部は、多角形の帯状基布を縫製することで立体形状に形成されており、
前記帯状基布は、延在方向に沿った一方の側縁が環状となるように、前記多角形の対角線の両端を構成する頂点同士を重ね合わせ、延在方向に沿った他方の側縁同士を連結したものであることを特徴とするエアバッグ装置。
