Abstract
【解決手段】レーザ投射表示装置1は、レーザ光源5とこれを駆動するレーザドライバ4と、レーザ光源が発生したレーザ光を走査して投射する走査部7と、レーザ光を所定の透過率で通過させる液晶素子14と、液晶素子に電圧を印加して透過率を変化させる液晶ドライバ17、を備える。レーザ光源4が発生するレーザ光の光量がレーザ光源が非線形領域で動作する場合のものであるときには、レーザドライバ4は、レーザ光源5の駆動レベルを所定量Gだけ増加させて非線形領域以外の領域にシフトさせるとともに、液晶ドライバ17は、液晶素子14の透過率を所定量1/Gだけ減衰させる。

Description
図4Aと図4Bは、半導体レーザの動作領域の一例を示す図である。図4Aは動作切り替えなしの場合、図4Bは動作切り替えありの場合である。
S102では、画像処理部2は生成した画像信号に基づき、半導体レーザ(LD)を駆動するための「明るさ設定値S」(図4Bの横軸)を決定する。
S105では、レーザドライバ4に対し、半導体レーザの明るさ設定値Sを変更する。具体的には、図4Bのように設定値をS1’〜S2’の区間の対応位置にシフトさせる。
以後、前記S101へ戻り、次の画像信号について同様の処理を繰り返す。

Claims (5)
- 画像信号に応じたレーザ光を投射して前記画像信号に応じた画像を表示するレーザ投射表示装置において、
前記レーザ光を発生するレーザ光源と、
前記レーザ光源を前記画像信号に応じたレベルでレーザ光を発生するよう駆動するレーザドライバと、
前記レーザ光源が発生したレーザ光を前記画像信号に係る同期信号に応じて走査して投射する走査部と、
前記レーザ光源が発生したレーザ光を所定の透過率で通過させる液晶素子と、
前記液晶素子に電圧を印加して前記透過率を変化させる液晶ドライバと、
前記画像信号を生成し、前記レーザドライバと前記液晶ドライバを制御する画像処理部と、を備え、
前記画像処理部は、前記レーザ光源が発生するレーザ光の光量が該レーザ光源が非線形領域で動作する場合のものであるときには、前記レーザドライバに対し、前記レーザ光源の駆動レベルを所定量Gだけ増加させて前記非線形領域以外の領域にシフトさせるとともに、前記液晶ドライバに対し、前記液晶素子の透過率を所定量1/Gだけ減衰させるよう制御することを特徴とするレーザ投射表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載のレーザ投射表示装置において、
前記レーザ光源は半導体レーザであり、
前記レーザ光源の非線形領域とは、前記半導体レーザの光量が急峻に増加する閾値電流を跨いだ領域であることを特徴とするレーザ投射表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載のレーザ投射表示装置において、
前記レーザ光の前記液晶素子に対する入射側及び出射側の強度をそれぞれ検出する第1の光センサ及び第2の光センサを備え、
前記画像処理部は、前記第1の光センサと前記第2の光センサの出力差により前記液晶素子の透過率を算出し、前記液晶ドライバを制御することを特徴とするレーザ投射表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載のレーザ投射表示装置において、
前記液晶素子は、前記レーザ光の前記走査部に対する入射側に配置したことを特徴とするレーザ投射表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載のレーザ投射表示装置において、
前記液晶素子は、前記レーザ光の前記走査部に対する出射側に配置したことを特徴とするレーザ投射表示装置。
