実施例1:スライバー調製
a)切断
アセテートトウ(40,000デニール、3.0dpf、Eastman Chemical Companyによって供給)およびレーヨントウ(150万デニール、3.0dpf、Lenzingによって供給)を別々に7インチのステープル繊維に切断する。ステープル繊維を手でブレンドすることによって1:1比で組み合わせる。
ブレンドされたステープル繊維を1lbの増分でミニカードフィードエプロンに供給し、ローラートップカード(Carolina Specialty TTC Mini Card)によって加工する。結果として得られるスライバーは約57,000〜64,000デニールのデニールを有するスライバー1ヤードあたり90〜100グレイン(grain)である。
スライバーの4つの端部をピン牽引ユニット(Warner & Swasey Co.)中に243,000デニールの合計重量で供給する。牽引ユニットを、40,000デニールスライバーを製造するように設定する。牽引プロセスは牽引スライバーを提供するのに成功したが、製品は最適ではなかった。牽引スライバーはある領域では斑点があり(アセテートステープル繊維の濃縮領域に起因する)、アセテートステープル繊維の多くは損傷を受け、牽引スライバーは全体的に加工しにくく、比較的弱く、そして均質ではなかった。本願によって提供される方法および材料のさらなる最適化は、したがってさらに望ましい物理的性質を有する牽引スライバーを提供するために望ましい。
上述のように、本発明にしたがってスライバーを強化するための1つの手段は、別の種類の材料を挿入して、シース・コア型構造を有する製品を製造することである。
10,000デニールのテクスチャー付与酢酸セルロース糸をピン牽引ユニット中に供給して、糸を牽引スライバー内にコアとして提供する。ここでも、牽引ステップは最適化されず、したがって同じ種類の不均質製品が製造され、シース・コア牽引スライバーはむらがあったことが注目される。強化スライバーは16lbsの破壊強度を示した。
24.0デニール/3dpf、100%紡糸KEVLAR(商標)(ポリ−パラフェニレンテレフタルアミド)を梳毛ユニット中に供給して、KEVLAR(商標)をスライバー内のコアとして供給する。強度スライバーは10ポンドの破壊強度を示した。
