Abstract
Description
本出願は、参照により本明細書に援用される「Shape Discrimination Vision Assessment System」と題する2009年5月9日にMichael Bartlett他によって出願された米国仮特許出願第61/176,885号の利益を主張する。本出願はまた、同様に参照により本明細書に援用される「Shape Discrimination Vision Assessment System」と題する2009年10月13日にMichael Bartlett他によって出願された米国仮特許出願第61/251,159号の利益も主張する。
Claims (45)
- 携帯式視力検査装置を用いた使用者の視力を自己検査する方法であって、
前記携帯式視力検査装置のディスプレイが前記使用者の眼までの許容可能な距離の範囲内にあることを確保することであって、前記許容可能な距離の変動が補償される、該確保すること、
前記使用者に対し、前記ディスプレイに種々の形状を静的に又は動的に表示すること、
前記使用者による、前記表示に応じた前記携帯式視力検査装置への入力を可能にすること、及び
前記使用者による前記携帯式視力検査装置への前記入力から前記自己検査の結果を決定すること、
を含む、携帯式視力検査装置を用いた使用者の視力を自己検査する方法。 - 前記視力検査の前記結果を解析することであって、前記形状の閾値変調レベルを求め、前記結果の一貫性を判断する、該解析すること、
前記種々の形状が表示された後、前記結果を前記使用者に表示すること、及び
前記結果を前記携帯式視力検査装置に格納すること、
を更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記結果を前記表示することは、前記眼のうちの左眼及び前記眼のうちの右眼に対する前記閾値変調レベルを表示することを含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記左眼及び前記右眼の両方に対し一貫性スコアも提示される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記結果のlogMAR測度が提示される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記携帯式視力検査装置により、前記格納された結果を医療提供者、臨床試験コーディネーター又は他の適切な存在に送信することを更に含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記許容可能な距離を求めるために、前記携帯式視力検査装置に一体化しているカメラによって、前記使用者の顔の寸法を測定することを更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記寸法は、前記眼の瞳孔間の距離、前記使用者の外側眼窩間の距離、前記瞳孔と前記使用者の鼻の底部との間の距離、又はそれらの組合せを含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記カメラにより、前記使用者が前記自己検査のために前記眼のうちの適切な一方を覆っているか否かを判断することを更に含む、請求項7に記載の方法。

- 前記使用者による薬剤の前記投与量の副作用の観察と、前記使用者による該使用者の健康状態の他のコメントとを格納することを更に含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記生体情報は、瞳孔拡張、虹彩の色、睫毛の成長、心拍数、血圧又は眼瞼下垂を含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記自己検査中に周囲光を評価し、前記周囲光のレベルを補償することを更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記レベルが閾値を下回るか又は上回る場合に、前記使用者に対し前記周囲光を変更するように通知することを更に含む、請求項24に記載の方法。
- 使用者による視力自己検査用の携帯式視力検査装置であって、
前記視力自己検査のために前記使用者に種々の形状を静的に又は動的に提示するように構成されたディスプレイと、
前記使用者の眼が前記ディスプレイまでの許容可能な距離の範囲内にあることを確保するように構成されたカメラであって、前記許容可能な距離の変動が補償される、カメラと、
制御部であって、前記使用者が、
前記表示された種々の形状に対する応答を入力し、
該携帯式視力検査装置の動作をトリガーし、
該携帯式視力検査装置を制御する
ことを可能にするように構成された制御部と、
を具備する、携帯式視力検査装置。 - 前記視力自己検査の結果を送信するように構成されたインターフェースポート
を更に具備する、請求項26に記載の携帯式視力検査装置。 - 前記携帯式視力検査装置は、
前記結果を解析して、前記種々の形状の閾値変調レベルを求めるとともに前記結果の一貫性を判断し、前記ディスプレイが、前記種々の形状が表示された後に前記結果を前記使用者に表示するように構成され、
前記携帯式視力検査装置に前記結果を格納する
ように更に構成される、請求項26に記載の携帯式視力検査装置。 - 前記ディスプレイは、前記眼のうちの左眼及び前記眼のうちの右眼に対して前記閾値変調レベルを表示するように更に構成される、請求項28に記載の携帯式視力検査装置。
