Abstract
【解決手段】オリビン結晶構造を有するリン酸鉄リチウムであって、前記リン酸鉄リチウムは、以下の式:Li1+aFe1−xMx(PO4−b)Xb(1)(ここで、M、X、a、x、およびbは、明細書で定義されたものと同じである。)で表される組成を有し、カーボン(C)が、カーボン以外の異種元素による化学結合によってリン酸鉄リチウムの粒子表面上にコーティングされる、リン酸鉄リチウムが開示される。前記リン酸鉄リチウムは、好ましくはLiFePO4である。

Description
Li1+aFe1−xMx(PO4−b)Xb (1)
ここで、
Mは、Al、Mg、Ni、Co、Mn、Ti、Ga、Cu、V、Nb、Zr、Ce、In、ZnおよびYから選択された少なくとも1つであり、
Xは、F、SおよびNから選択された少なくとも1つであり、
−0.5≦a≦+0.5、0≦x≦0.5、0≦b≦0.1である。
(a)初めに、開始材料としての前駆体とアルカリ化剤とを混合する段階;
(b)次に、段階(a)の混合物を超臨界水または亜臨界水と混合し、リン酸鉄リチウムを合成する段階;
(c)合成されたリン酸鉄リチウムをカーボン前駆体と混合し、その混合物を乾燥させる段階;
(d)リン酸鉄リチウムとカーボン前駆体との混合物を加熱する段階。
(a’) 初めに、開始材料としての前駆体とアルカリ化剤とを混合する段階;
(b’)次に、段階(a’)の混合物を超臨界水または亜臨界水と混合し、リン酸鉄リチウムを合成し、続いて乾燥させる段階;
(c’)合成されたリン酸鉄リチウムを加熱する段階;
(d’)リン酸鉄リチウムおよびカーボンパウダーをミリングする段階。
(a’’)開始材料としての前駆体を用いて、共沈または固相方法によってリン酸鉄リチウムを合成する段階;
(b’’)合成されたリン酸鉄リチウムを、硫黄含有化合物を含む分散槽に添加し、続いて撹拌する段階;
(c’’)段階(b’’)で得られた混合物を乾燥させ、続いてベーキングする段階;
(d’’)段階(c’’)で得られたリン酸鉄リチウムをカーボンパウダーと混合させ、続いてミリングするか、または焼成されたリン酸鉄リチウムおよびカーボン前駆体を溶媒と混合し、続いて乾燥およびベーキングする段階。
硫酸鉄、リン酸および糖類の水溶液を含む第1流体ストリームと、アンモニアとリチウム水酸化物水溶液との混合物を含む第2流体ストリームとが、5ml/minの速度および270barの圧力で、加圧下で汲み上げられ、460℃の超純水を含む第4流体ストリームは、第1反応器から供給される第3流体ストリームに、100ml/minの速度、同一の圧力で、加圧下で汲み上げられ、続いて第2反応器で混合された。
硫酸鉄およびリン酸が、HFePO4を得ることを可能にする同等の比率で蒸留水に溶解され、HFePO4は、共沈方法によって沈殿物を得るプロセスにおいて硫黄が残存する条件下で得られた水溶液の塩基性(pH)を増加しながら合成された。こうして合成されたHFePO4は、炭酸リチウムおよび糖類と混合され、続いてスプレー乾燥され、前駆体粒子を調製し、前駆体粒子は窒素雰囲気下、700℃で11時間焼成され、硫黄(S)を介した化学結合によってカーボンがコーティングされたリン酸鉄リチウムを調製した。
リン酸鉄リチウム(H.Q社によって製造されたP2モデル)が得られた。製品の取扱説明書に見られるように、2.2重量%のカーボンがリン酸鉄リチウムの表面にコーティングされている。
前駆体が調整された後に糖類が添加されなかったことを除き、実施例1と同様の方法でリン酸鉄リチウムが調整された。
比較例1のリン酸鉄リチウム粒子および実施例1のリン酸鉄リチウムが、顕微鏡によって測定された。結果が図1に示される。
カーボンと硫黄との間の結合状態を確認するため、実施例1のリン酸鉄リチウムがXPS分析にさらされた。結果が図2に示される。図2に見られるように、XPS分析の結果、カーボンは硫黄に共有結合していた。硫黄がイオン結合の形態で存在する場合、硫黄は充電/放電の間または高温で電解質溶液に溶解し、故に容量および安定性の低下などの電池の重大な問題を引き起こす。
比較例1および2、並びに実施例1および2のリン酸鉄リチウムのカーボン量および導電率が測定された。結果が以下の表1に示される。
比較例1および実施例1のリン酸鉄リチウムが、500mLビーカーに添加され、200mLの水がそれに添加され、その混合物が5分間活発に撹拌され、10分間放置された。そして、変化が測定された。測定結果に関連する画像が、図3および4に示される。
カソード活物質として実施例1で調製された95重量%のリン酸鉄リチウム、導電性材料として2.5重量%のスーパーP(Super−P)、およびバインダーとして2.5重量%のPVdFがNMPに添加され、カソード混合物スラリーを調製した。スラリーは、アルミニウムホイルの一表面にコーティングされ、続いて乾燥および加圧され、カソードを製造した。
実施例2で調製されたリン酸鉄リチウムがカソード活物質として使用されたことを除き、実施例3と同様の方法で電池が製造された。
比較例1のリン酸鉄リチウムがカソード活物質として使用されたことを除き、実施例3と同様の方法で電池が製造された。
比較例2のリン酸鉄リチウムがカソード活物質として使用されたことを除き、実施例3と同様の方法で電池が製造された。
実施例3および4、並びに比較例3および4の電池容量が測定された。結果が以下の表2に示される。
実施例4の電池および比較例4の電池に関して、0.1Cおよび1C放電条件下での変化が測定された。結果が図5に示される。放電状態は、1回目および50回目のサイクルで測定された。結果が図6に示される。
Claims (16)
- リチウム二次電池用のオリビン結晶構造を有するリン酸鉄リチウムであって、前記リン酸鉄リチウムは、以下の式1で表される組成を有し、カーボン(C)が、カーボン以外の異種元素による化学結合によってリン酸鉄リチウムの表面上にコーティングされる、リン酸鉄リチウム。
Li1+aFe1−xMx(PO4−b)Xb (1)
ここで、
Mは、Al、Mg、Ni、Co、Mn、Ti、Ga、Cu、V、Nb、Zr、Ce、In、ZnおよびYから選択された少なくとも1つであり、
Xは、F、SおよびNから選択された少なくとも1つであり、
−0.5≦a≦+0.5、0≦x≦0.5、0≦b≦0.1である。 - 前記リン酸鉄リチウムはLiFePO4である、請求項1に記載のリン酸鉄リチウム。
- 前記カーボンは、前記リン酸鉄リチウムの全重量をベースとして、0.01から10重量%の量でコーティングされる、請求項1に記載のリン酸鉄リチウム。
- 前記カーボンは、2から10nmの厚さで、リン酸鉄リチウムの表面上にコーティングされる、請求項1に記載のリン酸鉄リチウム。
- 前記カーボンは、硫黄(S)を介してリン酸鉄リチウムの表面に化学的に結合される、請求項1に記載のリン酸鉄リチウム。
- 硫黄(S)は、リン酸鉄リチウムの調製のための前駆体から生じる、請求項1に記載のリン酸鉄リチウム。
- 前記硫黄(S)は、硫黄含有化合物でリン酸鉄リチウムをコーティングすることによって組み込まれる、請求項5に記載のリン酸鉄リチウム。
- 前記硫黄含有化合物は、硫化物、亜硫酸塩および硫酸塩から選択された1つ以上である、請求項7に記載のリン酸鉄リチウム。
- 硫黄(S)は、前記リン酸鉄リチウムの全重量をベースとして、0.005から1重量%の量で含まれる、請求項1に記載のリン酸鉄リチウム。
- 前記リン酸鉄リチウムは、超臨界熱水法によって調製される、請求項1に記載のリン酸鉄リチウム。
- (a)初めに、開始材料としての前駆体とカーボン前駆体とアルカリ化剤とを混合する段階と、
(b)次に、段階(a)で得られた混合物を超臨界水または亜臨界水と混合する段階と、
(c)段階(b)で得られた混合物を乾燥させる段階と、
(d)乾燥した混合物を単純に洗浄して、硫黄(S)を前記混合物に残存させる段階と、
(e)前記混合物を加熱して、硫黄(S)による化学結合によってリン酸鉄リチウムの表面上にカーボン(C)がコーティングされるリン酸鉄リチウムを調整する段階と、
を含む、請求項1に記載のリン酸鉄リチウムを調製する方法。 - 前記加熱段階は、不活性ガス雰囲気下で実施される、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 請求項1から10の何れか1項に記載のリン酸鉄リチウムをカソード活物質として含むカソード混合物。
- 請求項13に記載のカソード混合物が電流コレクタに適用されるカソードを含むリチウム二次電池。
- 前記リチウム二次電池は、中型から大型デバイスの電源である電池モジュールの単一電池として使用される、請求項14に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記中型から大型デバイスは、動力工具、電気自動車、ハイブリッド電気自動車、または電気ゴルフカートである、請求項15に記載のリチウム二次電池。
