Abstract
【解決手段】負極活物質、結着剤及び導電材を含むリチウム二次電池用負極合剤は、上記負極活物質がリチウムと合金化及び脱合金化が可能な金属または半金属、またはこれらの化合物で形成されたコア部;及び上記コア部の外部に形成されケッチェンブラックを含むシェル部を備える複数の負極活物質粒子を含み、上記導電材が炭素ナノ繊維を含むことを特徴とする。体積膨張を抑制することができる金属系負極活物質を使用し、分散性に優れた導電材を使用することで、電池の寿命特性を向上させることができる。

Description
より詳しくは、特定の物質を含むシェル部を備えた負極活物質及び特定の導電材を含むことで寿命特性が向上したリチウム二次電池用負極合剤及びこれを用いたリチウム二次電池に関する。
Si‐Sn‐Al‐Ti合金(Si:4質量%、Sn:30質量%、Al:21質量%、Ti:45質量%)、黒鉛、ケッチェンブラック、導電材、結着剤を使用して下記表1に記載の組成で負極活物質及び負極合剤を製造した。
上記実施例及び比較例に従って製造された負極合剤をN‐メチルピロリドンに添加してスラリーとして製造した後、これを銅箔に塗布し、約130℃で2時間に亘って乾燥して負極を製造した。そして、正極としては金属リチウム箔を使用し、上記負極と正極との間にポリエチレンセパレーターを介在させて電極組立体を製造した。
上記実施例及び比較例に従って製造された電池を使用して充放電特性を評価した。充電時、0.5Cの電流密度で5mVまで定電流充電後、定電圧で5mVに一定に維持させて電流密度が0.005Cになれば充電を終了した。放電時、0.5Cの電流密度で1VまでCCモードで放電を完了した。同一の条件で充放電を50回繰り返した。

- リチウム二次電池用負極合剤であって、
負極活物質と、結着剤と、及び導電材とを含んでなり、
前記負極活物質が、リチウムと合金化及び脱合金化が可能な金属または半金属、またはこれらを含む化合物で形成されたコア部と、及び、前記コア部の外部に形成されケッチェンブラックを含むシェル部を備えてなる複数の負極活物質粒子を含んでなり、
前記導電材が、炭素ナノ繊維を含んでなることを特徴とする、リチウム二次電池用負極合剤。 - 前記負極活物質粒子のコア部におけるリチウムと合金化及び脱合金化が可能な金属または半金属が、Si、Sn、Al、Sb、Bi、As、Ge及びPbからなる群より選択される何れか一種又はこれら二種以上の混合物またはこれらの合金であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池用負極合剤。
- 前記負極活物質粒子のシェル部のケッチェンブラックの含量が、負極活物質の全体100重量部に対して0.1ないし10重量部であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池用負極合剤。
- 前記シェル部が、コア部材料とシェル部材料との混合物に機械的ストレスを加えて形成されてなることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池用負極合剤。
- 前記負極活物質が、炭素材負極活物質をさらに含んでなることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池用負極合剤。
- 前記炭素ナノ繊維が、気相蒸着によって形成されたことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池用負極合剤。
- 前記炭素ナノ繊維の含量が、負極合剤の全体100重量部に対して0.1ないし10重量部であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池用負極合剤。
- 前記結着剤が、ビニリデンフルオライド‐ヘキサフルオロプロピレン共重合体、ポリビニリデンフルオライド、ポリアクリロニトリル及びポリメチルメタクリレートからなる群より選択される何れか一種又はこれらの二種以上の混合物を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池用負極合剤。
