- 2個以上の六面体バッテリーモジュールを有してなる中型又は大型バッテリーパックであって、
前記2個以上の六面体バッテリーモジュールが、複数の充電及び放電可能なプレート形状バッテリーセル又は単位モジュール(単位電池) をそれぞれ包含してなり、かつ、パックケース中に取り付けられてなり、
前記バッテリーパックが、車両駆動用の電力供給源として使用され、5KWh以上のバッテリー容量を有し、前記単位電池の充電及び放電の際に発生する熱を、空冷方法を使用して除去されてなるものであり、
各前記バッテリーモジュールの前記単位電池が垂直に積み重ねられ、
前記単位電池の数が、前記車両中に設定されたバッテリーパック設置空間の高さに対応してなり、
隣接する単位電池が互いに間隔を置いて配置され、それぞれの単位電池間に冷却剤通路が設定されてなり、
前記パックケースが、前記車両中の前記バッテリーパック設置空間に対応する形状に形成されてなり、
前記六面体バッテリーモジュールが前記パックケースの内側空間中に配置され、
前記単位電池から熱を除去するための冷却剤が、前記パックケースの少なくとも片側を介して導入され、前記バッテリーモジュールを水平に通過し、前記パックケースの反対側を介して排出される、中型又は大型バッテリーパック。 - 前記単位モジュールのそれぞれが、2個以上の、互いに直列接続された電極端子を有するバッテリーセルと、及び、一対のセルカバーとを備えてなり、
前記セルカバーが、互いに連結して各バッテリーセルの、前記電極端子を除く外側表面を取り囲む構造で形成されてなる、請求項1に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。 - 前記単位モジュールのそれぞれが、金属材料から製造された前記セルカバー同士の間に2個のバッテリーセルが取り付けられた構造に形成されてなる、請求項2に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。
- 前記バッテリーセルのそれぞれが、樹脂層及び金属層を包含する小袋形ケース中に電極アセンブリーが取り付けられた構造に形成されてなる、請求項1に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。
- 前記バッテリーセルのそれぞれがリチウム二次バッテリーである、請求項1に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。
- 前記バッテリーパックが、電気自動車又はプラグ−インハイブリッド電気自動車用の電力供給源として使用される、請求項1に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。
- 前記バッテリーモジュールのそれぞれが、8〜24個の単位電池を包含する、請求項1に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。
- 前記単位電池が、隣接する単位電池が、互いに各単位電池の厚さの20〜50%に等しい間隔を置いて配置されてなる、請求項1に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。
- 各バッテリーモジュールの外側が、前記パックケースの内側から予め決められた空間幅で間隔を置いて配置され、冷却剤通路を定めてなる、請求項1に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。
- 前記空間幅が、各バッテリーモジュールの幅の10〜30%である、請求項9に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。
- 前記車両中の前記バッテリーパック設置空間が、前記車両の、後部座席後のトランク中に設定されてなるものである、請求項1に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。

冷却剤吸引口及び冷却剤排出口が前記パックケースの片側に形成され、冷却剤が前記冷却剤吸引口を介して導入され、前記パックケースの片側にある内側空間に沿って前記縦方向に流れ、前記バッテリーモジュールを水平に通過し、前記パックケースの反対側にある内側空間に沿って前記縦方向に流れ、次いで前記冷却剤排出口を介して外側に排出される構造に形成されてなる、請求項16に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。 - U字形冷却剤通路が一般的に前記パックケース中に設定されてなる、請求項17に記載の中型又は大型バッテリーパック。
