Abstract
【解決手段】図1に示す回路において、図3に示すタイミングチャートにしたがって第1ゲート信号線101と第2ゲート信号線102にパルスを入力し、回路のトランジスタのオンオフをおこなう。その結果、第3のノードN3と第2のノードN2の電位差が第4トランジスタ112のしきい値によらず、データ線103の電位VDataと第2配線105の電位V2によってのみ決定されるため、表示素子107に目的とする電流を流すことができる。

Description
図1(A)に本実施の形態の表示装置の回路の例を図示する。図1(A)に示される回路は、表示装置の1つのドットとして用いられる。第1ゲート信号線101と第2ゲート信号線102とデータ線103と第1配線104と第2配線105と第3配線106という6本の配線を有する。第1配線104と第2配線105と第3配線106の電位はそれぞれ一定となるように保たれるとよい。このうち、第2配線105と第3配線106を同じ電位となるように設計・設定されてもよい。
本実施の形態では、本発明の表示装置の一態様について、図5乃至図7を用いて説明する。本実施の形態では、発光素子として有機ELを用いた表示装置について説明する。特に、アクティブマトリクス回路上に発光層を形成し、アクティブマトリクス回路上方に光を照射して表示をおこなうトップエミッション型表示装置について説明する。

Claims (11)
- 第1ゲート信号線と第2ゲート信号線とデータ線と第1トランジスタと第2トランジスタと第3トランジスタと第4トランジスタと第5トランジスタと第6トランジスタとキャパシタと表示素子とを有し、
前記第1トランジスタのゲートは前記第1ゲート信号線に接続し、
前記第1トランジスタの第1電極は前記データ線に接続し、
前記第1トランジスタの第2電極は、前記第4トランジスタの第2電極および前記第5トランジスタの第1電極に接続し、
前記第2トランジスタのゲートは前記第1ゲート信号線に接続し、
前記第2トランジスタの第1電極は、前記第3トランジスタの第2電極と前記第4トランジスタの第1電極に接続し、
前記第2トランジスタの第2電極は前記第4トランジスタのゲートと前記キャパシタの第1電極に接続し、
前記第3トランジスタのゲートは前記第2ゲート信号線に接続し、
前記第4トランジスタの第2電極は前記第5トランジスタの第1電極に接続し、
前記第5トランジスタのゲートは前記第2ゲート信号線に接続し、
前記第5トランジスタの第2電極は、前記表示素子の第1電極と、前記キャパシタの第2電極と、前記第6トランジスタの第1電極に接続し、
前記第6トランジスタのゲートは前記第1ゲート信号線に接続する回路を有するアクティブマトリクス型表示装置。 - 前記第1トランジスタ乃至前記第6トランジスタが全てNチャネル型である請求項1記載のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置。
- 前記第3トランジスタの第1電極の電位は、前記第6トランジスタの第2電極の電位、および前記表示素子の第2電極の電位より高い請求項1または請求項2のいずれかに記載のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置。
- 前記第6トランジスタの第2電極の電位と前記表示素子の第2電極の電位が同じとなるように設定されている請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一に記載のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置。

第1ゲート信号線と、
第2ゲート信号線と
前記第1ゲート信号線にゲートが接続する複数の第1トランジスタと、
前記第2ゲート信号線にゲートが接続する複数の第2トランジスタと、
前記第1トランジスタの一の第1電極と前記第2トランジスタの一の第2電極に第1電極が接続し、前記第1トランジスタの一の第2電極と前記キャパシタの第1電極にゲートが接続し、前記第2トランジスタの他の第1電極と、前記第1トランジスタの他の第2電極に第2電極が接続する一以上の第3トランジスタと
を有し、
前記第1トランジスタの他の第1電極は前記データ線に接続し、
前記第2トランジスタの他の第2電極は前記表示素子の第1電極に接続する回路を有するアクティブマトリクス型表示装置。 - 前記第1トランジスタ乃至第3トランジスタが全てNチャネル型である請求項5記載のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置。
- 前記第3トランジスタの第1電極の電位は、前記表示素子の第2電極の電位より高い請求項5または請求項6のいずれかに記載のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置。
- 前記表示素子が有機EL素子である請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか一に記載のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置。
- 請求項5乃至請求項7記載のいずれか一に記載のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置において、前記第1トランジスタと前記第2トランジスタがいずれもオンである第1期間と、前記第1トランジスタがオンで前記第2トランジスタがオフである第2期間と、前記第1トランジスタと前記第2トランジスタがいずれもオフである第3期間と、前記第1トランジスタがオフで前記第2トランジスタがオンである第4期間を有することを特徴とするアクティブマトリクス型表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第1期間の後に前記第2期間が、前記第2期間の後に前記第3期間が、前記第3期間の後に前記第4期間が、前記第4期間の後に前記第1期間が続くことを特徴とする請求項9に記載のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第1期間と前記第3の期間が等しくなるように設定された請求項9または請求項10のいずれかに記載のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置の駆動方法。
