Abstract
Description
図2では、排気量2.2リットルのディーゼル車両における3つの異なった触媒コンバータ系を、その残留排出量に関してNEDC(New European Driving Cycle)において互いに比較されている。触媒坦体としてはそれぞれ、62cm−2のセル密度と0.17mmの通路壁厚さとを有するコーディエライト製のハニカム体が使用されており、これらのハニカム体は、ハニカム体容量1リットル当たり3.18gのプラチナを有する汎用のディーゼル用酸化触媒によって被覆されている。

触媒コンバータ系は21時間にわたって実際と同様に後噴射によって老化させられた。その後で、ディーゼル車両におけるその残留排出量がNEDCにおいて測定された。結果は図2に示されている。
Claims (13)
- 内燃機関の排ガスを浄化する触媒コンバータ系であって、1つの共通のコンバータハウジング(2)内に少なくとも1つの触媒コンバータ(3,4)を有しており、これらの触媒コンバータ(3,4)が、排ガスの流れ方向において相前後してかつ互いの間隔dをおいて配置されており、リーンな排ガスにおいて炭化水素及び一酸化炭素を触媒燃焼させることができる形式のものにおいて、
互いに隣接した2つの触媒コンバータの間における間隔dが、2〜30mmであることを特徴とする触媒コンバータ系。 - 第1の触媒コンバータ(3)の前に、排ガス中に燃料を吹き込むための調量装置が配置されている、請求項1記載の触媒コンバータ系。
- 触媒コンバータ(3,4)が、酸化触媒コンバータか又は、酸化触媒コンバータと三元触媒コンバートとの組合せである、請求項1又は2記載の触媒コンバータ系。
- 酸化触媒コンバータが、セラミック製又は金属製のハニカム体に被着された酸化活性の触媒層を有している、請求項3記載の触媒コンバータ系。
- 触媒層が、活性の酸化アルミニウム、酸化ケイ素、酸化チタン、酸化ジルコン、酸化セリウム及びこれらの混合物又は酸化混合物の群から成る坦体材料に、白金、パラジウム及びロジウムの群から成る少なくとも1つの貴金属を有している、請求項4記載の触媒コンバータ系。
- 排ガスの流れ方向において前側の触媒コンバータ(3)の触媒層が、パラジウムと組み合わせられた白金を有している、請求項5記載の触媒コンバータ系。
- 排ガスの流れ方向において後ろ側の触媒コンバータ(4)の触媒層が、パラジウムと組み合わせられた白金を有しており、パラジウム含有量が、前側の触媒コンバータにおけるよりも僅かである、請求項6記載の触媒コンバータ系。
- 排ガスの流れ方向において後ろ側の触媒コンバータ(4)の触媒層が、触媒活性の成分としてパラジウムだけを有している、請求項6記載の触媒コンバータ系。
- 第1及び/又は第2の触媒コンバータの触媒層が付加的にゼオライトを有している、請求項5から8までのいずれか1項記載の触媒コンバータ系。
- 請求項1から9までのいずれか1項記載の触媒コンバータ系の使用であって、ディーゼル機関の排ガス装置(1)において、ディーゼル機関からの未燃焼の燃料成分又は燃料を触媒コンバータにおいて燃焼させることによって、最後の触媒コンバータ(4)の後ろで、リーンな排ガスを500〜700℃の間の温度に加熱することを特徴とする、触媒コンバータ系の使用。
- 燃料が、調量装置を用いて第1の触媒コンバータ(3)の前で排ガス流内に吹き込まれる、請求項10記載の使用。
- 排ガス中における未燃焼の燃料成分が、ディーゼル機関のシリンダへ燃料の後噴射によって生ぜしめられる、請求項10記載の使用。
- 触媒コンバータ系の後ろに配置された煤フィルタ(6)を再生するために、触媒コンバータ系によって生ぜしめられた高温の排ガス流を用いる、請求項10から12までのいずれか1項記載の使用。
