Description
本実施の形態では、発光素子に用いる有機金属錯体について説明する。
本実施の形態では、発光素子の一態様について、図1を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態2とは異なる発光素子の態様の例について図2を参照して説明する。実施の形態1で示した有機金属錯体を用いた発光素子の態様は、複数の発光層を有するものであってもよい。複数の発光層を設け、それぞれの発光層から発光させることで、複数の発光が混合された発光を得ることができる。したがって、例えば白色光を得ることができる。本実施の形態では、複数の発光層を有する発光素子の態様について図2を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、複数の発光層を設け、かつ実施の形態3とは異なる素子構造でそれぞれの発光層から発光させる発光素子を例示する。したがって、本実施の形態においても、複数の発光が混合された発光を得ることができる。すなわち、例えば白色光を得ることができる。以下、図3を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態5では、実施の形態1で示した有機金属錯体を増感剤として用いた発光素子の態様について、図1を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態6では、上記実施の形態で示した発光素子を含む発光装置の一態様について、図4を用いて説明する。図4は、該発光装置の断面図である。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態6に示す発光装置をその一部に含む電子機器について説明する。本実施の形態で示す電子機器は、実施の形態1に示した有機金属錯体を含み、発光効率が高く、消費電力が低減された表示部を有する。また色再現性に優れた表示部を有する。フルカラーディスプレイに実施の形態1で示した有機金属錯体を用いる場合、赤色発光素子以外については、種々の発光物質を用い、実施の形態2〜5で説明したものと同様の構成の発光素子を適用することができる。
まず、2,3−ジクロロピラジン2.39g、3−メチルフェニルボロン酸4.51g、炭酸ナトリウム3.74g、ビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(II)ジクロリド(略称:Pd(PPh3)2Cl2)0.17g、水15mL、アセトニトリル15mLを、還流管を付けた丸底フラスコに入れ、内部をアルゴン置換した。この反応容器にマイクロ波(2.45GHz 100W)を3時間40分間照射することで加熱した。その後この溶液に水を加え、ジクロロメタンにて有機層を抽出した。得られた有機層を水で洗浄し、硫酸マグネシウムにて乾燥した。乾燥した後の溶液をろ過した。この溶液の溶媒を留去し、2,3−ジ−m−トリルピラジンを得た(白色粉末、収率80%)。ステップ1の合成スキームを下記(E4−1)に示す。
窒素雰囲気にて、上記ステップ1で得た2,3−ジ−m−トリルピラジン3.32gをジクロロメタン50mLに溶解し、3−クロロ安息香酸(略称:mCPBA)4.42gを添加して、24時間、室温にて撹拌した。その後この溶液に水を加え、ジクロロメタンにて有機層を抽出した。得られた有機層を飽和炭酸水素ナトリウム溶液で洗浄し、硫酸マグネシウムにて乾燥した。乾燥した後の溶液をろ過した。この溶液の溶媒を留去し、酢酸エチルを展開溶媒とするシリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィーにて精製した。さらに、ジクロロメタンとヘキサンの混合溶媒にて再結晶し、2,3−ジ−m−トリルピラジン−1−オキシドを得た(白色粉末、収率59%)。ステップ2の合成スキームを下記(E4−2)に示す。
窒素雰囲気にて、上記ステップ2で得た2,3−ジ−m−トリルピラジン−1−オキシド2.08gに塩化ホスホリル12mLを添加し、一時間加熱還流した。その後この溶液を氷水に注いだ。この水溶液に炭酸カリウムを加えて中性に調整し、ジクロロメタンにて有機層を抽出した。得られた有機層を水で洗浄し、硫酸マグネシウムにて乾燥した。乾燥した後の溶液をろ過した。この溶液の溶媒を留去し、5−クロロ−2,3−ジ−m−トリルピラジンを得た(黄色油状物、収率100%)。ステップ3の合成スキームを下記(E4−3)に示す。
上記ステップ3で得た5−クロロ−2,3−ジ−m−トリルピラジン2.36g、フェニルボロン酸0.98g、炭酸ナトリウム0.85g、ビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(II)ジクロリド(略称:Pd(PPh3)2Cl2)0.036g、水15mL、アセトニトリル15mLを、還流管を付けたナスフラスコに入れ、内部をアルゴン置換した。この反応容器にマイクロ波(2.45GHz 100W)を1時間30分間照射することで加熱した。その後この溶液に水を加え、ジクロロメタンにて有機層を抽出した。得られた有機層を水で洗浄し、硫酸マグネシウムにて乾燥した。乾燥した後の溶液をろ過した。この溶液の溶媒を留去し、H5dmtpprを得た(オレンジ色油状物、収率100%)。ステップ4の合成スキームを下記(E4−4)に示す。
次に、2−エトキシエタノール15mLと水5mL、上記ステップ4で得た5−フェニル−2,3−ジ−m−トリルピラジン2.84g、塩化イリジウム水和物(IrCl3・nH2O)(フルヤ金属製)1.01gを、還流管を付けたナスフラスコに入れ、フラスコ内をアルゴン置換した。その後、マイクロ波(2.45GHz 100W)を30分間照射し、反応させた。反応後の溶液を濃縮し、得られた残渣をエタノールにて洗浄することにより、複核錯体[Ir(5dmtppr)2Cl]2を得た(赤色粉末、収率88%)。また、ステップ5の合成スキームを下記(E4−5)に示す。
2−エトキシエタノール25mL、上記ステップ5で得た複核錯体[Ir(5dmtppr)2Cl]2 2.66g、ジピバロイルメタン0.91mL、炭酸ナトリウム1.57gを、還流管を付けたナスフラスコに入れ、フラスコ内をアルゴン置換した。その後、マイクロ波(2.45GHz 100W)を30分間照射し、反応させた。反応溶液をろ過し、得られたろ液の溶媒を留去し、トルエンを展開溶媒とするシリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィーにて精製した。さらに、メタノールにて再結晶し、目的物の暗い赤色粉末を収率77%で得た。ステップ6の合成スキームを下記(E4−6)に示す。

Claims (6)
- 一対の電極間に、下記一般式(G1)で表される構造を有する有機金属錯体をゲスト材料とし、低分子化合物をホスト材料として含む層を有する発光素子。
(但し、式中、R1〜R15は水素又は炭素数1〜4のアルキル基を表す。また、R21及びR22のうち、一方は炭素数2〜10のアルキル基を表し、他方は炭素数1〜10のアルキル基を表す。また、Mは中心金属であり、第9族元素、あるいは第10族元素を表す。また、前記中心金属が第9族元素の時はn=2であり、第10族元素の時はn=1である。) - 一対の電極間に、下記一般式(G2)で表される構造を有する有機金属錯体をゲスト材料とし、低分子化合物をホスト材料として含む層を有する発光素子。
