Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の液滴吐出装置の吐出量評価方法は、溶質を溶媒に溶解させた溶液と分散質を分散媒に分散させた分散液との少なくとも一方を含んだ液状体を吐出する液滴吐出装置において、吐出される液状体の吐出量を評価する方法である。液状体Q1に含まれる成分のうちの溶媒と分散媒との少なくとも一方を吸収する受理層21と、受理層21に当接して設けられ液状体Q1に含まれる成分のうちの受理層21に吸収される吸収成分を吸収しないベース層22とを有する試験片2の受理層21に、液状体Q1を液滴吐出装置により吐出する吐出工程と、吸収成分が受理層21に広がった吸収部Q21の面積を評価し、この評価結果に基づいて液状体の吐出量を評価する評価工程と、を備えている。

Description
この評価方法では液状体を乾燥させた後に計測を行うので、例えば8時間程度の乾燥時間が必要になり、効率よく計測を行うことができない。乾燥時間を短縮するために加熱処理等を行うことも考えられるが、これにより工数が増えることや熱による液状体の変質等により評価精度が低下すること等の不都合を生じるおそれがある。
図4(a)に示すように、本実施形態では試験片2及び評価装置17を用いて吐出量を評価する。評価装置17は、成膜装置1のキャリッジ13に取り付けられている。試験片2は、ワークWに固定されており、ワークWはワークステージ11に着脱可能に固定されている。
まず、図5(a)に示すように液滴吐出ヘッド12の吐出ユニットUから試験片2に向けて液滴状の液状体Q1を吐出する。液状体Q1は、リザーバ124や貯留室122に貯留された液状体Qの一部である。本実施形態の液状体Qは、固体成分を分散媒(受理層21に対する吸収成分)に分散させたものである。試験片2の所定領域に向けて吐出する液状体Q1の液滴の数としては、単数であってもよいし、複数であってもよい。ここでは、試験片2の1箇所に1滴の液状体を吐出するとともに、試験片2の複数箇所に液滴を吐出する。
本実施形態の方法によれば、次に説明するような方法を用いるので、評価精度を確保しつつ効率よく評価を行うことができる。

Claims (8)
- 溶質を溶媒に溶解させた溶液と分散質を分散媒に分散させた分散液との少なくとも一方を含んだ液状体を吐出する液滴吐出装置において、吐出される液状体の吐出量を評価する方法であって、
前記液状体に含まれる成分のうちの前記溶媒と前記分散媒との少なくとも一方を吸収する受理層と、この受理層に当接して設けられ前記液状体に含まれる成分のうちの前記受理層に吸収される吸収成分を吸収しないベース層とを有する試験片の前記受理層に、前記液状体を前記液滴吐出装置により吐出する吐出工程と、
前記吸収成分が前記受理層に広がった吸収部の面積を評価し、この評価結果に基づいて前記液状体の吐出量を評価する評価工程と、を備えていることを特徴とする液滴吐出装置の吐出量評価方法。 - 前記評価工程では、前記吸収部の画像を撮像する撮像処理と、前記画像を解析する解析処理とを行うことにより、前記面積を評価することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液滴吐出装置の吐出量評価方法。
- 前記解析処理では、前記画像における前記吸収部の階調と、前記画像における前記吸収部の周辺部の階調とを用いて閾値を設定し、この閾値により前記吸収部の輪郭を検出して前記面積を評価することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液滴吐出装置の吐出量評価方法。
- 前記解析処理では、前記吸収部の階調として前記画像における前記吸収部の周縁部を除いた部分の階調を用いるとともに、前記周辺部の階調として前記画像における前記吸収部の近接部を除いた部分の階調を用いることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液滴吐出装置の吐出量評価方法。
- 前記解析処理では、前記画像において階調が変化する部分を除去して、前記吸収部の階調と前記周辺部の階調とを求めることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の液滴吐出装置の吐出量評価方法。
- 前記評価工程では、焦点距離を異ならせて複数回数の前記撮像処理を行うとともに、前記解析処理では、前記複数回数の撮像処理により得られた複数の画像を用いて前記閾値を設定することを特徴とする請求項3〜5のいずれか一項に記載の液滴吐出装置の吐出量評価方法。
- 前記解析処理では、前記吸収部の階調と前記周辺部の階調との平均値を前記閾値に設定することを特徴とする請求項3〜6のいずれか一項に記載の液滴吐出装置の吐出量評価方法。
- 前記解析処理では、前記閾値の小数点以下を切り上げた整数を第1閾値として前記面積を第1仮評価するとともに、前記閾値の小数点以下を切り捨てた整数を第2閾値として前記面積を第2仮評価し、
前記第1仮評価により前記面積を評価した値を前記閾値と前記第1閾値との差に反比例して重み付けするとともに、前記第2仮評価により前記面積を評価した値を前記閾値と前記第2閾値との差に反比例して重み付けすることにより前記面積を評価することを特徴とする請求項3〜7のいずれか一項に記載の液滴吐出装置の吐出量評価方法。
