Abstract
【解決手段】 本発明の発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子は、予備発泡させた上で金型内に充填して発泡させて発泡成形体を成形するための発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子であって、スチレン系単量体、エチルベンゼン、トルエン、n−プロピルベンゼン、i−プロピルベンゼン及びキシレンからなる群より選ばれた一種又は二種以上の芳香族化合物の総量が発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子の全重量に対して0〜500ppmであると共に、粒子径が0.3〜0.6mmであり、嵩倍率10倍に予備発泡させた予備発泡粒子の表層部のゲル分率が60〜100重量%、中心部のゲル分率が0〜20重量%であることを特徴とする。

攪拌装置を備えた25リットルのステンレス製のオートクレーブ内に、シード粒子として粒子径が表1に示した範囲内にあるポリスチレン粒子及びイオン交換水を表1に示した所定量だけ供給し、オートクレーブ内を攪拌しつつドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム1重量部を添加し、更に、ピロリン酸マグネシウム30重量部を添加して分散させて懸濁液を作製し、この懸濁液を150rmpの攪拌速度で攪拌させながら30分かけて90℃まで昇温した。なお、シード粒子として用いたポリスチレン粒子には、表1に記載した上限の粒子径を有するポリスチレン粒子は含まれているが、下限の粒子径を有するポリスチレン粒子は含まれていない。表1のシード粒子の粒子径の表記は、例えば、実施例1の場合、シード粒子として、粒子径が0.3mmより大きく且つ0.5mm以下のポリスチレン粒子を用いたことを意味する。
得られた発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子を1g、嵩倍数10倍に発泡させて予備発泡粒子を得、各予備発泡粒子の表層部及び中心部のゲル分率を測定し、表層部のゲル分率と中心部のゲル分率をそれぞれ別々に相加平均して、予備発泡粒子の表層部及び中心部のゲル分率を算出した。
得られた発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子100重量部の表面を、パーム油から直接法で得られたステアリン酸亜鉛4重量部及び重量平均分子量300のポリエチレングリコール0.8重量部で被覆した。この発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子を回転攪拌式予備発泡機を用いて予備発泡させて嵩倍率が9倍の予備発泡粒子を得た。
Claims (1)
- 予備発泡させた上で金型内に充填して発泡させて発泡成形体を成形するための発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子であって、スチレン系単量体、エチルベンゼン、トルエン、n−プロピルベンゼン、i−プロピルベンゼン及びキシレンからなる群より選ばれた一種又は二種以上の芳香族化合物からなる有機化合物の総量が発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子の全重量に対して0〜500ppmであると共に、粒子径が0.3mmより大きく且つ0.6mm以下であり、更に、嵩倍率10倍に予備発泡させた予備発泡粒子において、予備発泡粒子の表面と、この表面から予備発泡粒子の直径の10%の深さだけ内方に入った部分との間にある表層部のゲル分率が60〜100重量%であると共に、上記予備発泡粒子における表層部を除いた残余部分からなる中心部のゲル分率が0〜20重量%であることを特徴とする発泡性スチレン系樹脂粒子。
