Claims (12)
- ハニカム体の欠陥を検出するためのシステムであって、
前記ハニカム体を保持するよう構成された固定器、
粒子状流体供給源、
前記粒子状流体供給源と前記ハニカム体の第1の端面との間の粒子状流体のための流路、および
前記流路内に配設された複数の羽根を含む整流器
を備えることを特徴とするシステム。 - 前記流路が管を備え、前記粒子状流体が前記管から出る点における前記管の内形寸法が、前記ハニカム体の最大横断方向外形寸法より大きいことを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記整流器の前記複数の羽根が複数の流路を構成することを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記流路が管を備え、該管の長さL及び内径Dは、L/Dが0.25〜1.5となるよう選択されることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記第1の端面が、前記流路からの略均一な流速プロファイルを有する粒子状流体の流れにさらされることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記第1の端面を定める領域にわたる前記略均一な流速プロファイルのばらつきが25%以下であることを特徴とする請求項5記載のシステム。
- 前記第1の端面が、周囲の固定器の下面から6mmを超える距離Sだけ離間されることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記固定器の上方に配置された対流シールドであって、前記ハニカム体の外形に略一致する形状及びサイズを有する開口部を有する対流シールドを更に備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- ハニカム体の端面にわたって粒子状流体を与える装置であって、
内部キャビティを有するハウジングと、粒子状流体を生成する粒子生成器とを有する粒子状流体供給源、
前記ハウジング内に配設された管であって、前記内部キャビティに向かって開口した第1の端部と、第2の端部とを有し、圧力差によって前記粒子状流体が当該管内へと駆動される管、および
前記管内に配設された複数の整流羽根を有する整流器
を備えることを特徴とする装置。 - ハニカム体の第1の端面に略均一な速度プロファイルを有する粒子状流体の流れを与える工程、および
欠陥のあるセルを識別するために前記ハニカム体の第2の端面から出てくる粒子を検出する工程
を有してなるハニカム体の欠陥を検出する方法。 - 前記与える工程が、
前記粒子状流体を、整流器を有する管の第1の端部内へと駆動し、
前記粒子状流体を、前記整流器を通って前記管の第2の端部へと流れさせ、
前記管の前記第2の端部から出てくる前記粒子状流体を、前記ハニカム体の前記第1の端面に与える
各工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項10記載のハニカム体の欠陥を検出する方法。 - 前記端面を定める領域にわたる前記略均一な速度プロファイルのばらつきが25%以下であることを特徴とする請求項10記載のハニカム体の欠陥を検出する方法。
