Abstract
【解決手段】光センサと、表示素子と、複数のトランジスタを具備する複数の画素がマトリクス状に設けられた画素回路部と、光センサを駆動するための光センサ駆動回路に接続され、光センサからの信号を読み取るための光センサ制御回路と、表示素子を駆動するための表示素子駆動回路に接続され、表示部で表示するための画像信号を出力する表示部制御回路と、携帯電話の傾きに応じた信号を出力するための傾き検出部と、傾き検出部からの信号により、表示部制御回路に出力する画像信号を切り替えて画素回路部での表示を行う演算回路と、を有する。

Description
本実施の形態では、携帯電話の構成及びその機能について、ブロック図等を用いて説明する。なお、本明細書における携帯電話とは、テレビジョン放送を受信すること等により画像を表示する映像機能、携帯電話の基地局を介した通信による通話機能、及びインターネットを介して電子メール等を送受信する機能等を有する携帯型情報通信装置のことをいう。なお携帯電話が有する機能は複数でもよく、前述の機能に限定されるものではないことを付記する。
本実施の形態では、本発明で使用する携帯電話の表示部周辺の画素回路部101、表示素子駆動回路102、及び光センサ駆動回路103の構成の一例について説明していく。図8に、画素回路部101、表示素子駆動回路102、及び光センサ駆動回路103のブロック図について示す。図8で表示素子駆動回路102は、データ線駆動回路320、走査線駆動回路322を有している。また光センサ駆動回路103は、光センサ信号線駆動回路321、光センサ走査線駆動回路323を有し、各画素に設けられたリセット用トランジスタ、バッファ用トランジスタ及び選択用トランジスタの駆動を制御している。
本実施の形態では絶縁表面を有する基板上に画素回路部を構成する各トランジスタを作製する方法について詳細に説明する。まず、図10(A)に示すように、基板701上に第1の絶縁膜702a及び第2の絶縁膜702bを形成する。第2の絶縁膜702b上には、第1の半導体層703、第2の半導体層704、第3の半導体層705、第4の半導体層706、第5の半導体層707を形成する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態3で画素電極まで作製したトランジスタを具備する基板から、携帯電話の表示部を作製する工程を説明する。図15に透過型液晶表示装置を携帯電話の表示部とする場合の工程について説明をおこなう。まず、実施の形態3に従い、図13(B)の状態のトランジスタを具備する基板を作製した後、図15で示すように柱状のスペーサ1401を形成する。そしてスペーサ1401を覆うように配向膜1402を形成しラビング処理をする。
次に、図19を参照して、表示素子、及び光センサを具備する画素回路が形成された表示パネル、並びに傾き検出部を具備する携帯電話の構成の一例について説明する。

- 光センサと、表示素子と、複数のトランジスタを具備する複数の画素がマトリクス状に設けられた画素回路部と、
前記光センサを駆動するための光センサ駆動回路に接続され、前記光センサからの信号を読み取るための光センサ制御回路と、
前記表示素子を駆動するための表示素子駆動回路に接続され、表示部で表示するための画像信号を出力する表示部制御回路と、
携帯電話の傾きに応じた信号を出力するための傾き検出部と、
前記傾き検出部からの信号により、前記表示部制御回路に出力する画像信号を切り替えて前記画素回路部での表示を行う演算回路と、を有することを特徴とする携帯電話。 - 光センサと、表示素子と、複数のトランジスタを具備する複数の画素がマトリクス状に設けられた画素回路部と、
前記光センサを駆動するための光センサ駆動回路に接続され、前記光センサからの信号を読み取るための光センサ制御回路と、
前記表示素子を駆動するための表示素子駆動回路に接続され、表示部で表示するための画像信号を出力する表示部制御回路と、
携帯電話の傾きが縦向きまたは横向きであるかを検出し、前記傾きに応じた信号を出力する傾き検出部と、
前記傾きに応じた信号により、前記表示部制御回路に出力する画像信号を切り替えて前記画素回路部での表示を行う演算回路と、を有することを特徴とする携帯電話。 - 光センサと、表示素子と、複数のトランジスタを具備する複数の画素がマトリクス状に設けられた画素回路部と、
前記光センサを駆動するための光センサ駆動回路に接続され、前記光センサからの信号を読み取るための光センサ制御回路と、
前記表示素子を駆動するための表示素子駆動回路に接続され、前記表示部で表示するための画像信号を出力する表示部制御回路と、
携帯電話の傾きが第1の状態乃至第3の状態であるかを検出し、前記傾きに応じた信号を出力する傾き検出部と、
前記傾きに応じた信号により、前記表示部制御回路に出力する画像信号を切り替えて前記画素回路部での表示を行う演算回路と、を有することを特徴とする携帯電話。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか一において、前記表示素子は、液晶素子、EL素子、または電気泳動素子であることを特徴とする携帯電話。
- 請求項1乃至4のいずれか一において、傾き検出部は、ジャイロスコープ、または3軸加速度センサであることを特徴とする携帯電話。
- 請求項1乃至5のいずれか一において、前記光センサは、フォトダイオードであることを特徴とする携帯電話。
- 請求項1乃至6のいずれか一において、前記トランジスタが有する半導体層は、単結晶シリコン基板を用いて作製されたものであることを特徴とする携帯電話。
