Abstract
【解決手段】
ボールジョイント10のボール部14がソケット16内に収容された状態で、ボール部14をもつ第1部材12とソケット16をもつ第2部材15とが支持される。一対の金型20、30が、ソケット16の開口17を囲む壁18を径方向外側から挟み、接近と離反の小刻みな振動を繰り返しつつ徐々に接近していき壁18を径方向内方へ断続的に押圧する。断続的な押圧の各インターバルに、支持回転装置40が、ソケット16(第2部材15)をその中心軸C2を中心に小距離だけ回転させる。結果として、金型20、30が、ソケット16の壁18の外面上の全周にわたる多数の点を逐次に押圧して、ソケット16の壁18が内側に曲げられ径が縮小する。

Claims (8)
- ボール部を有する第1部材と、前記ボール部を収容する略円筒状のソケットを有する第2部材とを備えたボールジョイントの製造装置において、
前記第2部材の前記ソケットの開口を囲む壁の径を縮小させるための一対の金型と、
前記ボール部が前記ソケット内に収容された状態で前記第1及び第2部材を支持し、前記ソケットの中心軸を中心に前記ソケットが前記一対の金型に対して相対的に回転するよう、前記第2部材に回転力を加える回転支持装置と、
前記回転支持装置が前記第2部材を支持して回転力を加えている間、前記一対の金型が前記ソケットの壁を径方向の外側から挟むように前記一対の金型を支持し、前記一対の金型が前記ソケットの前記壁の外面を径方向内方へ繰り返し断続的に押圧するように、前記一対の金型の少なくとも一方を駆動する押圧装置と
を備えたボールジョイントの製造装置。 - 前記押圧装置が、前記少なくとも一方の金型を前記ソケットの径方向に沿って繰り返し振動させながら、前記振動の各周期での前記一対の金型間の最も近づいた距離を次第を縮めていく、
請求項1に記載のボールジョイントの製造装置。 - 前記押圧装置が、
前記少なくとも一方の金型を前記径方向に沿って所定の移動時間長にわたり所定の移動距離だけ前進移動させる第1駆動機構と、
前記第1駆動機構が前記少なくとも一方の金型を前進移動させている間、前記移動時間より短い周期で且つ前記移動距離よりも小さい振幅で、前記径方向に沿って、前記少なくとも一方の金型を振動させる第2駆動機構と
を有する、
請求項2に記載のボールジョイントの製造装置。 - 前記回転支持装置が、
前記第2部材を回転させるための回転力を発生する動力源と、
前記第2部材をチャックするチャッキング装置と、
前記動力源から前記チャッキング装置へ回転力を伝達する回転力制御装置と
を有し、
前記回転力制御装置は、前記一対の金型により前記ソケットが押圧された時に前記第2部材の回転が停止又は抑制されるように、前記動力源から前記チャッキング装置へ伝達される回転力を調整するようになった、
請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のボールジョイントの製造装置。 - 前記一対の金型の各々が前記ソケットの前記壁の外面に当接して、前記壁を径方向内方成分と軸方向後方成分をもった斜め方向へ押圧する凹面状の押圧面を有する、
請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のボールジョイントの製造装置。 - 前記一対の金型の各々が、前記ソケットの前記壁における先端により近い第1部分の外面に当接するよう配置された第1サブ押圧面と、前記壁における前記先端からより遠い第2部分の外面に当接するよう配置された第2サブ押圧面とを有し、断続的な押圧が繰り返されている間における前期に、前記一対の金型の前記第1サブ押圧面が前記第1部分を押圧してそこの径を縮小し、後期に、前記一対の金型の前記第2サブ押圧面が前記第2部分を押圧してそこの径を縮小するようになっている、
請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のボールジョイントの製造装置。 - 請求項5又は6のいずれか一項に記載のボールジョイントの製造装置で使用される金型。
- ボール部を有する第1部材と、前記ボール部を収容する略円筒状のソケットを有する第2部材とを備えたボールジョイントの製造方法において、
前記第2部材のソケットの開口を囲む壁の径を縮小させるための一対の金型を、前記ソケットの壁を径方向外側から挟むように配置するステップと、
前記ボール部が前記ソケット内に収容された状態で、前記ソケットの前記壁の外面を、前記配置された一対の金型により径方向内方へ繰り返し断続的に押圧するステップと、
前記断続的に繰り返される押圧のインターバルに、前記ソケットの中心軸を中心に前記ソケットを前記一対の金型に対して相対的に回転させるステップと
を有するボールジョイントの製造方法。
