Abstract
【解決手段】ピストン30の頂部のキャビティCの底面に形成されたランド部31のテーパー面に、平面視にて、複数の凸部31aが等角度間隔で放射状に形成される。各凸部31aは、その延在方向が対応する燃料噴霧の軸線Xに沿うようにそれぞれ配置されている。これにより、各燃料噴霧は、対応する凸部31aとシリンダヘッド部20の内壁との間の空間(凸部空間)を対応する凸部31aの延在方向に沿って進行する。圧縮行程後半にて燃料噴射がなされると、ピストンの圧縮の進行により凸部空間の体積の他の部分の空間の体積に対する割合が減少していくことに起因して、凸部空間の圧力が他の部分の空間の圧力よりも高くなっていく。この圧力差により、各燃料噴霧が周方向へ広げられる。

Claims (6)
- 少なくともシリンダヘッド部とピストンの頂部とにより区画・形成される燃焼室と、
前記燃焼室内にて燃料を直接噴射する燃料噴射弁と、
を備えた直接噴射式の内燃機関であって、
前記ピストンの頂部に、前記燃料噴射弁からの燃料噴射により形成される燃料噴霧の軸線に沿う方向に延在する凸部であって前記凸部と前記シリンダヘッド部の内壁との間の空間を前記燃料噴霧が前記凸部の延在方向に沿って進行するように凸部が形成された直接噴射式の内燃機関。 - 請求項1に記載の直接噴射式の内燃機関において、
前記ピストンの頂部にはキャビティが形成されていて、前記キャビティの底面に前記凸部が形成された直接噴射式の内燃機関。 - 請求項1又は請求項2に記載の直接噴射式の内燃機関において、
前記燃料噴射弁からの燃料噴射により複数本の前記燃料噴霧が互いに異なる方向に形成され、
前記各燃料噴霧に対して、前記凸部が、前記燃料噴霧の軸線に沿う方向に延在するように且つ前記凸部と前記シリンダヘッド部の内壁との間の空間を前記燃料噴霧が前記凸部の延在方向に沿って進行するように、それぞれ形成された直接噴射式の内燃機関。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3の何れか一項に記載の直接噴射式の内燃機関において、
前記凸部は、前記凸部の第1位置での突出高さが前記第1位置よりも前記燃料噴射弁の噴孔から遠い前記凸部の第2位置での突出高さよりも大きいように構成された直接噴射式の内燃機関。 - 請求項1乃至請求項4の何れか一項に記載の直接噴射式の内燃機関において、
前記凸部の頂部は前記凸部の延在方向に亘ってR形状を呈していて、前記凸部は、前記凸部の第3位置でのR形状の半径が前記第3位置よりも前記燃料噴射弁の噴孔から遠い前記凸部の第4位置でのR形状の半径よりも小さいように構成された直接噴射式の内燃機関。 - 請求項1乃至請求項5の何れか一項に記載の直接噴射式の内燃機関において、
吸気ポートとして、前記燃焼室の中央部に向けて配置されたストレートポートと、前記燃焼室の側壁近傍にてスワールを形成するように配置されたヘリカルポート又はタンジェンシャルポートと、を備えた直接噴射式の内燃機関。
