Claims (47)
- 患者が皮膚表面を有する、患者の美容上の外観を改善するための方法であって、皮膚表面を通してプローブを挿入する段階、および皮膚表面の下の標的組織を、標的組織がリモデリングを受けて標的組織のリモデリングが皮膚表面の形状を改変するように冷却する段階を含む方法。
- 冷却の前の皮膚表面が望ましくない筋または皺を呈しており、リモデリングが、筋または皺を抑制しかつ筋または皺を効果的に平滑化するように行われる、請求項1記載の方法。
- 皮膚表面が顔面のある領域を含み、標的組織が顔面の筋肉、随伴する神経、随伴する結合組織または随伴する神経/筋肉接合部を含み、かつ冷却が患者の外観を改善するように顔面の筋肉の収縮を抑制する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 冷却が、内側前頭筋、外側前頭筋、皺眉筋、鼻根筋、眉毛下制筋、上眼瞼挙筋、眼輪筋眼窩部、眼輪筋眼瞼部、上唇鼻翼挙筋、上唇挙筋、小頬骨筋、大頬骨筋、口角挙筋、頬筋、口角下制筋、下唇下制筋、おとがい筋、上唇切歯筋、下唇切歯筋、笑筋、広頸筋、口輪筋、咬筋、側頭筋、内側翼突筋、顎二腹筋、鼻筋、上顎筋(maxillae)、上唇方形筋、および下唇方形筋からなる群より選択される筋肉の収縮を抑制する、請求項3記載の方法。
- 標的組織を選択的に冷却するように、皮膚表面に対する冷却誘発性損傷を抑制する段階をさらに含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 皮膚表面に対する冷却誘発性損傷が、皮膚表面に沿って温熱エネルギーを加えることによって抑制される、請求項5記載の方法。
