Abstract
Description
−拡大されたネマチック相範囲(特に、低い温度までの)、
−極度に低い温度でのスイッチ能力(屋外用途、自動車、航空電子工学)、
−紫外線照射に対する増大された抵抗(より長い寿命)、
−低い閾電圧。
R0は、炭素数1〜15のアルキルまはたアルコキシ基を表し、ただし加えて、これらの基の1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、酸素原子が互いに直接結合しないようにして、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、−CH=CH−、
R0、L1、n、AおよびBは、上で示される意味を有し、および
環Cは、1,4−フェニレンまたはトランス−1,4−シクロヘキシレンを表し、
aは、0または1であり、
R3は、炭素数2〜9のアルケニル基を表し、および
R4は式I中のR0について示される意味の1つを有し、好ましくは炭素数1〜12のアルキル基または炭素数2〜9のアルケニル基を表す。
Y1〜4は、それぞれ互いに独立に、HまたはFを表し、
X0は、F、Cl、CN、SF5、SCN、NCS、炭素数6までのハロゲン化アルキル基、ハロゲン化アルケニル基、ハロゲン化アルコキシ基またはハロゲン化アルケニルオキシ基を表し、
Z0は、−C2H4−、−(CH2)4−、−CH=CH−、−CF=CF−、−C2F4−、−CH2CF2−、−CF2CH2−、−CH2O−、−OCH2−、−COO−、−CF2O−または−OCF2−を表し、式VおよびVI中では単結合も表し、および
rは、0または1を表す。
−Δnは589nmおよび20℃における光学異方性を表わし、
−γ1は20℃における回転粘度(mPa・s)を表わし、
−V10は透過(基板表面に垂直な視角)が10%となる電圧(V)を表し(閾電圧)、
−Δεは20℃および1kHzにおける誘電異方性(Δε=ε‖ε−ε⊥、ここでε‖は分子の長軸に平行な誘電率、ε⊥はそれに垂直な誘電率を表す)を表す。

Claims (24)
- 以下の式から選ばれる1種類以上の化合物を更に含む請求項1ないし4いずれか一項記載の液晶媒体。
R0は、請求項1中に示される意味を有し、
Y1〜4は、それぞれ互いに独立に、HまたはFを表し、
X0は、F、Cl、CN、SF5、SCN、NCS、炭素数6までのハロゲン化アルキル基、ハロゲン化アルケニル基、ハロゲン化アルコキシ基またはハロゲン化アルケニルオキシ基を表し、
Z0は、−C2H4−、−(CH2)4−、−CH=CH−、−CF=CF−、−C2F4−、−CH2CF2−、−CF2CH2−、−CH2O−、−OCH2−、−COO−、−CF2O−または−OCF2−を表し、式VおよびVI中では単結合も表し、および
rは、0または1を表す。) - 1〜25質量%の式Iの化合物と、
25〜80質量%の式IIおよび/またはIIIの化合物と、
5〜30質量%の式VI−2の化合物と
を含む請求項1ないし16いずれか一項記載の液晶媒体。 - L1はFを表す請求項18または19
記載の化合物。 - 電気光学的目的のための請求項1ないし21いずれか一項記載の液晶媒体または化合物の使用。
- 請求項1ないし21いずれか一項記載の液晶媒体または化合物を備える電気光学的液晶ディスプレイ。
- 請求項1または2で定義される式Iの化合物の1種類以上を、請求項3ないし16いずれか一項記載の化合物の1種類以上と、または更なる液晶化合物および/または添加剤と混合する請求項1ないし17いずれか一項記載の液晶媒体の調製方法。
