Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の予混合圧縮着火機関は、負のオーバーラップ期間を有し、火花点火燃焼と予混合圧縮着火燃焼とを切り換えて運転を行なう。スロットルは吸気量を調整し、燃料弁は吸気通路へ供給される燃料の供給量を調整する。ECUは、火花点火燃焼から予混合圧縮着火燃焼への切換期間において、スロットルの開度が、火花点火燃焼の定常運転時における開度から予混合圧縮着火燃焼の定常運転時における開度まで増大するようにスロットルを制御し((A)参照)、且つ、吸気通路へ供給される燃料の供給量が、火花点火燃焼の定常運転時における供給量よりも多くなるように、燃料弁を制御する((B)参照)。

Description
図1を参照しながら、本発明の第1実施形態に係る予混合圧縮着火機関の全体構成について説明する。図1は、本実施形態に係る予混合圧縮着火機関1の全体概略図である。
スロットル3は、図1に示すように、軸3c、弁部3v、軸3cを駆動するステップモータ(図示せず)を有して構成され、弁部3vは、軸3cを中心として回転可能となっている。そして、ECU5がステップモータを制御することで、弁部3vの開度が調整され、それにより、吸気通路11pを通って燃焼室10へ供給される吸気量が調整される。
燃料弁2vは、燃料供給路2pの途中に設けられている。そして、ECU5が燃料弁2vを制御することで、燃料弁2vの開度が調整され、それにより、吸気通路11pへ供給される燃料の供給量が調整される。
次に、予混合圧縮着火機関1の動作について、図2を参照しながら説明する。図2は、横軸を燃焼サイクル数としたときの、予混合圧縮着火機関1のスロットル開度、燃料弁開度、ミキサ通過流量、空気過剰率を示したチャートである。ここで、スロットル開度、燃料弁開度は、ECU5による制御状態を表わしており、ミキサ通過流量、空気過剰率は、その制御によって得られる結果を表わしている。また、図2は、予混合圧縮着火燃焼において内部EGRを用いることを前提としたものである(すなわち、予混合圧縮着火燃焼の定常運転時におけるスロットル開度、燃料弁開度、ミキサ通過流量、空気過剰率は、内部EGRを用いた場合の量(値)となっている)。
次に、本発明に係る予混合圧縮着火機関の第2実施形態について、図4、5を参照しながら、上記の実施形態と異なる部分を中心に説明する。図4は第2実施形態に係る予混合圧縮着火機関の全体概略図を示し、図5は、横軸を燃焼サイクル数としたときの、第2実施形態に係る予混合圧縮着火機関のスロットル開度、燃料弁開度、ミキサ通過流量、空気過剰率を示したものである。なお、上記の実施形態と同様の部分については、同一の符号を付してその説明を省略する。

Claims (5)
- 燃焼室と、当該燃焼室へ連通する吸気通路と、を有し、火花点火燃焼と予混合圧縮着火燃焼とを切り換えて運転を行ない、予混合圧縮着火燃焼運転時に負のオーバーラップ期間を有する予混合圧縮着火機関において、
前記燃焼室へ供給される吸気量を調整するスロットルと、
前記吸気通路へ供給される燃料の供給量を調整する燃料供給量調整手段と、
火花点火燃焼から予混合圧縮着火燃焼への切換期間において、前記スロットルの開度が、前記火花点火燃焼の定常運転時における開度から前記予混合圧縮着火燃焼の定常運転時における開度まで増大するように前記スロットルを制御し、且つ、前記吸気通路へ供給される燃料の供給量が、前記火花点火燃焼の定常運転時における供給量よりも多くなるように、前記燃料供給量調整手段を制御する制御手段と、を有することを特徴とする予混合圧縮着火機関。 - 前記吸気通路へ連通し前記燃料の通路となる燃料供給路をさらに有し、
前記燃料供給量調整手段は、前燃料供給路に設けられた燃料弁であり、
前記切換期間において、前記スロットルの開度は、前記予混合圧縮着火燃焼の定常運転時における開度にまで段階的に増大することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の予混合圧縮着火機関。 - 前記切換期間における前記スロットルの開度の二段階目以降の増大量には、一段階目の増大量よりも大きいものが含まれることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の予混合圧縮着火機関。
- 前記燃料はガス燃料であり、
前記吸気通路の途中に配置され、吸入された空気と前記燃料とが混合されるミキサと、
前記ミキサへの燃料供給路である第1燃料供給路と、
前記第1燃料供給路の途中から分岐し、前記吸気通路へと連通する第2燃料供給路と、をさらに有し、
前記燃料供給量調整手段は、前記第2燃料供給路に設けられた開閉弁であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の予混合圧縮着火機関。 - 前記スロットルの開度が、前記圧縮着火期間の定常運転時における開度になるまで、前記吸気通路への燃料の供給量が前記火花点火燃焼の定常運転時における供給量よりも多くなるように前記制御手段が前記燃料供給量調整手段を制御し、
前記スロットルの開度が、前記圧縮着火期間の定常運転時における開度になった後は、前記吸気通路への燃料の供給量が、前記予混合圧縮着火燃焼の定常運転時における供給量となるように、前記制御手段が前記燃料供給量調整手段を制御することを特徴とする請求項1乃至4に記載の予混合圧縮着火機関。
