Abstract
【解決手段】 空燃比AF、算出空燃比AFc、排気温度thcoに基づいて高濃度の未燃燃料排出を示すか否かを判定している(S110,S112,S114)。そして高濃度未燃燃料が排出されると判断される場合には(S110,S112,S114のいずれかで「no」)、PM再生制御における添加1回当たりの燃料添加量を減少補正している(S116)。したがって高濃度のHCが排気浄化用フィルタの下流に排出される状況となると、直ちに添加1回当たりの燃料添加量が減少されるので、高濃度HCの外部への排出を防止することができ、白煙の発生を確実に防止することができる。

Description
請求項1に記載の内燃機関排気浄化装置は、排気中の粒子状物質を濾過すると共に堆積した粒子状物質を触媒機能により酸化することで再生可能な排気浄化用フィルタを備え、粒子状物質を酸化する際に、前記排気浄化用フィルタの上流から排気系内に燃料を添加することで前記排気浄化用フィルタに対して粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理を実行する内燃機関排気浄化装置であって、前記排気浄化用フィルタの下流の排気中に存在する未燃燃料の濃度を反映する物理量、又は前記未燃燃料の濃度に影響する物理量を検出する未燃燃料濃度物理量検出手段と、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理時に、前記未燃燃料濃度物理量検出手段にて検出された物理量の値が高濃度の未燃燃料の排出を示す場合には、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理における添加による燃料濃度を低下させる添加燃料濃度低減手段とを備えたことを特徴とする。
請求項8に記載の内燃機関排気浄化装置では、請求項1〜7のいずれかにおいて、排気系内において燃料を添加する位置よりも下流に排気タービンを配置したターボチャージャーを備えた内燃機関に適用されていることを特徴とする。
図1は上述した発明が適用された車両用ディーゼルエンジンと内燃機関排気浄化装置の機能を果たすシステムとの概略を表す構成説明図である。尚、本発明は希薄燃焼式ガソリンエンジンなどについて同様な触媒構成を採用した場合においても適用できる。
尚、NOx吸蔵還元触媒36aとフィルタ38aとの間には第1排気温センサ44が配置されている。又、フィルタ38aと酸化触媒40aとの間において、フィルタ38aの近くには第2排気温センサ46が、酸化触媒40aの近くには空燃比センサ48が配置されている。
次に図2に、ECU70により実行される高濃度HC排出防止処理のフローチャートを示す。本処理は一定の時間周期で割り込み実行される処理である。なお個々の処理内容に対応するフローチャート中のステップを「S〜」で表す。
吸入空気量GAは吸入空気量センサ24の検出値、燃料噴射量Finjは燃料噴射弁58から噴射される燃料量、及び燃料添加量Faddは添加弁68から排気に添加される燃料量である。尚、燃料噴射量Finj及び燃料添加量Faddは、燃料噴射制御上及び燃料添加制御上、目標値として設定されている燃料量の値を、燃料圧力を考慮して単位時間当たりの噴射量及び添加量に換算したものである。
計算上の空燃比である算出空燃比AFcも基準空燃比AFx以上であれば(S112で「yes」)、次に現在、第2排気温センサ46にて検出されているフィルタ38a下流直下の排気温度thcoが基準温度THx以上か否かが判定される(S114)。この基準温度THxは、PM再生制御中において周期的に燃料添加がなされている時に、酸化触媒反応低下を判断するための触媒床温基準温度である。ここでは第2排気温センサ46にて検出される排気温度thcoに対する基準温度であり、フィルタ38aの触媒活性が高いことにより燃料の消化(浄化)が進んで白煙を生じることがない下限の触媒床温を設定している。
(イ).高濃度HC排出防止処理(図2)のステップS110,S112,S114の判定により、各物理量(空燃比AF、算出空燃比AFc、触媒床温に相当する排気温度thco)に基づいて高濃度の未燃燃料の排出を示すか否かを判定している。そして、高濃度未燃燃料が排出されると判断される場合には(S110,S112,S114のいずれかで「no」)、PM再生制御(粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理に相当)における添加1回当たりの燃料添加量を減少補正している(S116)。
本実施の形態では、図2の代わりに図5に示す高濃度HC排出防止処理が実行される点が異なる。これ以外の構成は、前記実施の形態1と同じであるので図1を参照して説明する。
(イ).高濃度HC排出防止処理(図5)のステップS110,S115の組み合わせ、あるいはステップS112,S115の組み合わせにより、高濃度の未燃燃料の排出を示す状態であるか否かを判断している。すなわち、空燃比AF又は算出空燃比AFcが基準空燃比AFxより小さく、かつ排気温度thcoが基準温度THxより低い場合に、高濃度の未燃燃料の排出、特に白煙排出を示す状態であると判定している。このような高濃度未燃燃料が排出されると判断される場合にPM再生制御における添加1回当たりの燃料添加量を減少補正している(S116)。
[その他の実施の形態]
(a).前記実施の形態1の高濃度HC排出防止処理(図2)において、ステップS110,S112,S114の3つ条件が設けられていたが、この3つの条件の内、いずれか1つ又は2つのみの処理としても良い。
Claims (8)
- 排気中の粒子状物質を濾過すると共に堆積した粒子状物質を触媒機能により酸化することで再生可能な排気浄化用フィルタを備え、粒子状物質を酸化する際に、前記排気浄化用フィルタの上流から排気系内に燃料を添加することで前記排気浄化用フィルタに対して粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理を実行する内燃機関排気浄化装置であって、
前記排気浄化用フィルタの下流の排気中に存在する未燃燃料の濃度を反映する物理量、又は前記未燃燃料の濃度に影響する物理量を検出する未燃燃料濃度物理量検出手段と、
前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理時に、前記未燃燃料濃度物理量検出手段にて検出された物理量の値が高濃度の未燃燃料の排出を示す場合には、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理における添加による燃料濃度を低下させる添加燃料濃度低減手段と、
を備えたことを特徴とする内燃機関排気浄化装置。 - 請求項1において、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理における燃料添加は複数回の添加に分けて周期的に行われると共に、前記添加燃料濃度低減手段は各回の燃料添加量を減少させることにより前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理における添加による燃料濃度を低下させることを特徴とする内燃機関排気浄化装置。
- 請求項1又は2において、前記未燃燃料濃度物理量検出手段は、排気系において燃料添加位置よりも下流での排気の空燃比を前記物理量として検出する空燃比検出手段であり、前記添加燃料濃度低減手段は、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理時に、前記空燃比検出手段にて検出された空燃比が、燃料の高濃度状態を判断するための基準空燃比よりも小さい場合を前記物理量の値が高濃度の未燃燃料の排出を示す場合であるとして、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理における添加による燃料濃度を低下させることを特徴とする内燃機関排気浄化装置。
- 請求項1又は2において、前記未燃燃料濃度物理量検出手段は、内燃機関にて燃焼される燃料量、排気系において添加される燃料量、及び内燃機関の吸入空気量に基づく空燃比計算により排気の空燃比を前記物理量として検出する空燃比検出手段であり、前記添加燃料濃度低減手段は、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理時に、前記空燃比検出手段にて検出された空燃比が、燃料の高濃度状態を判断するための基準空燃比よりも小さい場合を前記物理量の値が高濃度の未燃燃料の排出を示す場合であるとして、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理における添加による燃料濃度を低下させることを特徴とする内燃機関排気浄化装置。
- 請求項3又は4において、前記未燃燃料濃度物理量検出手段は、前記空燃比検出手段に加えて、前記排気浄化用フィルタの触媒床温を検出する触媒床温検出手段を有し、前記添加燃料濃度低減手段は、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理時に、前記空燃比検出手段にて検出された空燃比が前記基準空燃比よりも小さく、かつ前記触媒床温検出手段にて検出された触媒床温が酸化触媒反応低下を判断するための基準温度よりも低い場合を、前記物理量の値が高濃度の未燃燃料の排出を示す場合であるとして、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理における添加による燃料濃度を低下させることを特徴とする内燃機関排気浄化装置。
- 請求項1又は2において、前記未燃燃料濃度物理量検出手段は、前記排気浄化用フィルタの触媒床温を前記物理量として検出する触媒床温検出手段であり、前記添加燃料濃度低減手段は、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理時に、前記触媒床温検出手段にて検出された触媒床温が酸化触媒反応低下を判断するための基準温度よりも低い場合を前記物理量の値が高濃度の未燃燃料の排出を示す場合であるとして、前記粒子状物質浄化用昇温処理における添加による燃料濃度を低下させることを特徴とする内燃機関排気浄化装置。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれかにおいて、前記添加燃料濃度低減手段は、未燃燃料濃度が白煙を排出しない範囲から逸脱する場合を、前記物理量の値が高濃度の未燃燃料の排出を示す場合としていることを特徴とする内燃機関排気浄化装置。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれかにおいて、排気系内において燃料を添加する位置よりも下流に排気タービンを配置したターボチャージャーを備えた内燃機関に適用されていることを特徴とする内燃機関排気浄化装置。
