2−フェニル−2−プロパノールを17重量%とクメンを83重量%含有する混合物を、木炭担体上にパラジウムを5重量%含む水素化触媒の存在下、225℃の温度および20×105N/m2の圧力で2時間にわたって水素と接触させた。得られた生成物は、2−フェニル−2−プロパノールを1重量%、クメンを94重量%、i−プロピルシクロヘキサンを3重量%、さらなる化合物を2重量%含有していた。
