利用されてもよい。システムは、所望の媒体イベントの早いあるいは遅れた記録
に関して、例えば、ユーザに秒あるいは分ごとの増加（例えば、１分ごとの増加
）を指定する機会を提供し得る。チャンネル、ネットワーク、媒体プロバイダあ
るいはタイトルによって、あるいは他の好適な基準を利用してどのように秒ある
いは分ごとの増加を設定するかについて決定してもよい。システムは、媒体が開

であることを示す識別子あるいは任意の他のキューについて、リアルタイムデー
タストリームをモニタしてもよい。例えば、チャネル上で垂直帰線消去期間（Ｖ
ＢＩ）のデータがまさに開始しようとする個々の媒体のシステムを通知するため
にモニタされてもよい。媒体の記録がユーザの機器あるいはユーザの家まで遠く
離れたサーバによって実施されてもよい。
【００１２】 願わくば、媒体に関連するデータは、記録システムに提供され得る。双方向番
組ガイドに関する番組リストデータなどの関連データは、任意の好適なアプロー
チ（例えば、連続ストリーム、周期的な通信、クライアント／サーバベースのア
プローチ、任意の他の好適なアプローチあるいはそれらの組み合わせ）を利用し

ステムは自動的に調整されてもよい。あるいは記録システムは、ユーザが時間遅
延情報および時間延長情報に基づいて番組に関する記録時間を調整することが可
能であってもよい。

ステムは、媒体を配信するネットワークあるいはシステムから分離してデータを

は任意の他の適用可能なデータベースを含んでもよい。複数の主設備１２は、デ
ータをテレビ配信設備２４に提供してもよい。図が過度に複雑になることを回避
するために１つの主設備のみが図に示される。例えば、１つの主設備は番組ガイ
ド情報を提供するために利用され、他の主設備は、特定の媒体情報を提供しても
よい。

度に１つの番組のみを記録し得る記録システム（例えば、ＶＣＲ）が、２つの番
組を記録するように設定され得る。ここで、２つの番組は、互いに時間が隣接し
ている。例えば、第１の番組（本明細書中以後、計画された番組）は、あるチャ
ンネルで午後１２時から午後１時の間に記録されるように設定され得、隣接する

は、計画された番組の予測された時間変更を提供するために収集されたサンプル
が隣接する番組と比較した場合にあまり信頼性がないかもしれないと決定し得る
。これは、記録システムに、計画された番組の予測された時間変更に低い信頼度
