【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、装置の要素によっ
て再生されるディジタル・サウンド・レコーディングの
音量を調整する方法に関する。この方法は基本的に、例
えばジュークボックスのようなオーディオビジュアル再
生システムのサウンドカードによってデータファイル形
式のディジタルレコーディングを再生する間に使用する
ことを意図するものである。

【従来の技術】従来の技術では、コンパクトディスク
（ＣＤ）などのディジタルレコーディングは、特定のサ
ウンド設定レベルに対し同一音量で再生されないことが
知られている。これは基本的に、音楽の種類と音楽の一
部が録音されている方法に原因している。実際、サウン
ドフレームは振動とピークの連続を含む電気信号から構
成されている。各ピークは電圧値に相当する。電圧の絶
対値が高くなるほど、音量は大きくなり、信号変化の傾

【発明の実施の形態】本発明の説明を始める前に、ディ
ジタルレコーディングに関するいくらかの解説を述べる

るレコーディングは、、曲線Ｃ１の部分Ｂにある、レコ
ーディングの最大振幅を持つ、おおよそ１０の数サンプ

しユーザが選択した最大サウンドレベルに従って変更す
る。これにより、各ゾーンに対しユーザが選択した最大
サウンドレベルは前もって、例えば中央処理ユニットの
メモリに格納され、その後の再生の間、サウンドカード
管理プログラムにより収集され、各ゾーンにリンクして
いる減衰回路４１、４２、４３に送られる。次に、各ゾ
ーンの設定に従う方法で変更された信号４１０は、前に
述べた低域、高域、またはその両方のサウンドに割当て
られたダイナミックゲイン４１１、４２１、４３１で再
度変更される。これにより、サウンドカード管理プログ
ラムは、各ゾーンの出力信号に含まれる低域、高域、ま
たはその両方のサウンド信号に対しゲインを割当てる。
このゲインは各ゾーンの出力信号に適用される減衰に相
当する。言いかえれば、ゾーンの出力信号を、ユーザが
選択したサウンドレベルを越えないように、例えば６ｄ
Ｂ減衰すると、低域、高域、またはその両方のサウンド
は６ｄＢだけ増加する。各ゾーンに割当てられる減衰
は、サウンドカード管理プログラムにより、データベー
ス３２内または中央処理ユニットに格納されている特定
ファイル内に収集される。
【００３４】ダイマナミック低域、高域、またはその両
方のサウンド調整を実行された後、ディジタル信号４１
１０をディジタル／アナログコンバータ４１２、４２
２、４２３の入力に供給し、その出力を、スピーカ６
１、６２、６３が接続されている増幅器５１、５２、５
３の入力に接続する。
【００３５】本発明による方法は、各レコーディングに
対する可能な音量を前もって決定後、分析されたディジ
タルレコーディングすべてを、ユーザの選択した同一サ
ウンド設定に対して、同一サウンドレベルで再生するこ
とができる。
【００３６】本発明によれば、特許請求される本発明の
範囲から逸脱することなく、多くの他の特定形態での実
施形態が可能なことは当業者には明らかである。したが
って、本発明の実施形態は実例と考える必要があり、添
付の特許請求の範囲で限定される範囲内で変更可能であ
る。また本発明は前述の詳細内容に制限されるものでは
ない。

Claims (10)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 レコーディングに対し、人間の耳に聞こ
    えるサウンド周波数の最大振幅値を絶対値で決定するこ
    とからなるステップと、 上で決定された最大振幅値と、混合された全周波数に対
    する最大振幅値との間の、特定のサウンドレベルを設定
    する可能なゲインを計算することからなるステップと、 特定値のレコーディングのサウンドレベルを得ることを
    可能にする増幅ゲインを、該レコーディングに対し計算
    されたゲインに対応するように、自動的に調整すること
    により、サウンドカードを用いてレコーディングを再生
    することからなるステップと、を有することを特徴とす
    る、ディジタル・サウンド・レコーディングのサウンド
    音量を調整する方法。
  2. 【請求項２】 最大振幅値決定のステップが、 レコーディング中に存在するすべての振幅に対し、特定
    の振幅を持つレコーディングのサンプル数をカウントす
    ることからなるステップと、 見出したサンプル数の振幅を、昇順に分類することから
    なるステップと、 混合された全周波数に対する前記最大振幅、および実行
    された分類の順番が最大振幅の順番に比較してｎ順位低
    い振幅をメモリに格納するステップであって、見出され
    た振幅がこの場合人間の耳の可聴周波数に対する最大振
    幅に相当するものである、ステップとを有することを特
    徴とする、請求項１に記載の音量調整方法。
  3. 【請求項３】 レコーディングの再生品質の劣化が人間
    の耳に知覚されないように前記ｎを決定することを特徴
    とする、請求項２に記載の音量調整方法。
  4. 【請求項４】 前記ｎがおおよそ１０、好ましくは４ま
    たは５に等しいことを特徴とする、請求項２または３に
    記載の音量調整方法。
  5. 【請求項５】 最大振幅値決定のステップが、 レコーディング中に存在するすべての振幅に対し、特定
    の振幅を持つレコーディングのサンプル数をカウントす
    ることからなるステップと、 見出したサンプル数の振幅を、昇順に分類することから
    なるステップと、 レコーディング中に、少なくともｋ’回発生するｎ’の
    最大振幅の平均値Ａｍ ｅａｎを計算することからなるス
    テップと、を含むことを特徴とする、請求項１に記載の
    音量調整方法。
  6. 【請求項６】 最大振幅値決定のステップが、 少なくとも１つの音響心理学的マスクによってレコーデ
    ィングを圧縮して、最初のレコーディングから不可聴音
    を削除できるようにすることからなるステップと、 レコーディングを圧縮解除することからなるステップ
    と、 前記圧縮解除されたレコーディングの最大振幅を検索す
    ることからなるステップであって、前記最大振幅がこの
    場合人間の耳の可聴周波数に対する最大振幅に相当する
    ものである、ステップと、を含むことを特徴とする、請
    求項１に記載の音量調整方法。
  7. 【請求項７】 前記音響心理学的マスク（複数もある）
    を、ＭＰＥＧ−１のレイヤー３またはＡＡＣのような圧
    縮方法を使用して適用することを特徴とする、請求項６
    に記載の音量調整方法。
  8. 【請求項８】 再生ステップが、レコーディングの低音
    域、高音域、またはその両方のサウンドに対し特定のゲ
    インを認定することからなるレコーディングのダイナミ
    ック再生サウンドレベルの調整ステップを含み、前記ゲ
    インがレコーディングの再生中に適用される減衰にほぼ
    相当することを特徴とする、請求項１から７のいずれか
    一項に記載の音量調整方法。
  9. 【請求項９】 ディジタル・オーディオビジュアル再生
    システムが、 レコーディングを対応する計算されたゲインと共に再生
    システムのメモリに格納し、さらにオーディオビジュア
    ル再生システムの読取り手段がゲイン値にアクセスして
    ディジタル・オーディオビジュアル再生システムのディ
    ジタル信号処理プロセッサのゲイン回路を制御して、応
    分にサウンドレベルを調整することを特徴とする、請求
    項１から８のいずれか一項に記載の自動音量調整方法の
    使用。
  10. 【請求項１０】 レコーディングの前記再生サウンドレ
    ベルに対するダイナミック調整手段が、レコーディング
    の低音域、高音域、またはその両方サウンドに対する特
    定のゲインを取り込み、該ゲインが、レコーディングの
    再生の間に割当てられた特定の減衰にほぼ対応して増幅
    器入力ゲインを評価することを特徴とする音量調整方
    法。
