- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.エチレン、エチレンとは異なる第一のオレフィン、および3個−約20個の 炭素原子を有しており、前記第一のオレフィンとは異なる第二のオレフィンを含 有するターポリマーであって、 (a)10−80mol%のエチレン、 (b)14−80mol%の前記第一のオレフィン、 (c)1−10mol%の前記第二のオレフィン、 (d)300−10,000の数平均分子量、 (e)分子量分布<2.5、 (f)乱雑なモノマー分布、および (g)頭から尾の分子構造 によって特徴付けられるターポリマー。 2.エチレン、エチレンとは異なる第一のオレフィン、および約3個−約20個 の炭素原子を有しており、前記第一のオレフィンとは異なる第二のオレフィンを 含有するターポリマーであって、このターポリマーが、 (a)10−80mol%のエチレン、 (b)14−80mol%の前記第一のオレフィン、 (c)1−10mol%の前記第二のオレフィン、および (d)300−10,000の数平均分子量 を特徴としており、このターポリマーが、周期表のIVb族の遷移金属の化合物 とアルミノキサンとを含む一部位触媒(single site catalyst)の存在下に得られ たものである、ターポリマー。 3.エチレン、エチレンとは異なる第一のオレフィン、および4個−約20個の 炭素原子を有しており、前記第一のオレフィンとは異なる第二のオレフィンの分 解液状ターポリマーであって、 (a)10−80mol%のエチレン、 (b)14−80mol%の前記第一のオレフィン、 (c)1−10mol%の前記第二のオレフィン、 (d)数平均分子量<2000、 (e)分子量分布<2、および、 (f)乱雑なモノマー分布によって特徴付けられる分解液状ターポリマー。 4.前記第一のオレフィンがプロピレンである、請求項1−3のいずれか一つの 請求項に記載のターポリマー。 5.前記第二のオレフィンが炭素数4−12のオレフィンである、請求項1−3 のいずれか一つの請求項に記載のターポリマー。 6.前記第二のオレフィンが1−ブテン、1−ペンテン、1−ヘキセン、1−ヘ プテン、1−オクテン、1−ノネン、1−デセンまたはスチレンである、請求項 1−3のいずれか一つの請求項に記載のターポリマー。 7.前記ターポリマーが、約0−25の臭素価、約1000−3000の数平均 分子量、約1.0−2.5の分子量分布および約50−5000cStの40℃ での動粘度を有する、請求項1−3のいずれか一つの請求項に記載のターポリマ ー。 8.前記ターポリマーがエチレン、プロピレンおよび1−ブテンを含有している 、請求項1−3のいずれか一つの請求項に記載のターポリマー。 9.前記第一のオレフィンが、2−メチルプロペン、2−メチル−1−ブテン、 2−メチル−1−ペンテン、2−メチル−1−ヘキセン、またはα−メチルスチ レンである、請求項1−3のいずれか一つの請求項に記載のターポリマー。 10.前記ターポリマーが液状である、請求項1−3のいずれか一つの請求項に 記載のターポリマー。 11.前記ターポリマーがワックス状である、請求項1−3のいずれか一つの請 求項に記載のターポリマー。 12.前記ターポリマーが固体である、請求項1−3のいずれか一つの請求項に 記載のターポリマー。 13.エチレンと、約3−20個の炭素原子を有する第一のオレフィンと、前記 第一のオレフィンとは異なっており、約4−20個の炭素原子を有する第二のオ レフィンとを、周期表IVb族の遷移金属の化合物とアルミノキサンとを含む単 一部位触媒の存在下に重合させることによって、ターポリマーを生成させる工程 を有する、ターポリマーの製造方法。 14.前記ターポリマーを水素添加して水素添加ターポリマーを生成させる工程 を更に有する、請求項13記載の方法。 15.前記ターポリマーと水素ガスとを、水素添加触媒の存在下に、約150℃ −約500℃の温度で、約17−68atmの水素圧下に反応させることによっ て、前記水素添加を実施する、請求項14記載の方法。 16.請求項14記載の方法によって生成した水素添加ターポリマー。 17.前記ターポリマーを分解させることによって分解ターポリマーを生成させ る工程を更に有する、請求項13記載の方法。 18.前記の分解されたターポリマーを水素添加することによって、水素添加お よび分解されたターポリマーを生成させる工程を更に有する、請求項17記載の 方法。 19.前記の分解されたターポリマーを水素ガスと、水素添加触媒の存在下に、 約150℃−約500℃の温度で、約17−68atmの水素圧下に反応させ ることによって、前記の水素添加を実施する、請求項18記載の方法。 20.前記臭素価が約0.04−約1.5の範囲内にある、請求項19記載の方 法によって生成した水素添加分解ターポリマー。 21.エチレンとオレフィンとの分解液状共重合体であって、 (a)10−75mol%のエチレン、 (b)数平均分子量<2000、 (c)分子量分布<2、 (d)乱雑なモノマー分布、および (e)頭から尾の分子構造 によって特徴付けられる分解液状共重合体。 22.前記オレフィンが3個から20個の炭素原子を有する、請求項21記載の 分解共重合体。 23.前記オレフィンが、プロピレン、2−メチル−1−プロペン、2−メチル −1−ブテン、2−メチル−1−ペンテン、2−メチル−1−ヘキセン、または α−メチルスチレンである、請求項21記載の分解共重合体。 24.(a)周期表IVb族の遷移金属の化合物とアルミノキサンとを含む一部 位触媒の存在下に少なくとも一種のオレフィンとエチレンとを重合させることに よって前駆体共重合体を生成させる工程;および (b)前記前駆体共重合体の少なくとも一部を300℃を超える温度で分解する ことによって、分解共重合体を生成させる工程 を有する、分解共重合体の製造方法。 25.前記オレフィンが約3個−20個の炭素原子を有する、請求項24記載の 方法。 26.前記オレフィンがプロピレンである、請求項24記載の方法。 27.前記遷移金属が、チタン、ジルコニウムおよびハフニウムからなる群より 選ばれている、請求項24記載の方法。 28.前記アルミノキサンがポリメチルアルミノキサンである、請求項24記載 の方法。 29.前記分解工程が熱分解である、請求項24記載の方法。 30.前記分解工程を、約350℃−約500℃の温度範囲内で、約0.1mm Hgからの真空圧で実施する、請求項24記載の方法。 31.前記分解共重合体を水素添加して水素添加共重合体を生成させる工程を更 に有する、請求項24記載の方法。 32.前記分解共重合体を水素ガスと、水素添加触媒の存在下に、約150℃− 約500℃の温度で、約17−68atmの水素圧下に反応させることによって 、前記水素添加を実施する、請求項31記載の方法。 33.前記臭素価が約0.04−約1.5の範囲内である、請求項32記載の方 法によって生成した水素添加分解共重合体。 34.(a)周期表IVb族の遷移金属の化合物とアルミノキサンとを含む一部 位触媒の存在下にエチレンと第一のオレフィンを重合させることによって、前駆 体重合体を生成させる工程;および (b)前記前駆体重合体の少なくとも一部を水添異性化することによって水添異 性化炭化水素生成物を生成させる工程 を有する、エチレン−オレフィン重合体の水添異性化炭化水素生成物の製造方法 。 35.前記水添異性化を、酸性水添異性化触媒の存在下に、約150℃−約30 0℃の温度で、約17−68atmの水素圧下に実施する、請求項34記載の方 法。 36.前記第一のオレフィンがプロピレンである、請求項34記載の方法。 37.4個から約20個の炭素原子を有する第二のオレフィンモノマーが前記反 応に含まれており、前記工程(a)における前記重合体がターポリマーである、 請求項34記載の方法。 38.前記第二のオレフィンが、1−ブテン、1−ペンテン、1−ヘキセン、1 −ヘプテン、1−オクテン、1−ノネン、1−デセン、2−メチル−1−プロペ ン、2−メチル−1−ブテン、2−メチル−1−ペンテン、2−メチル−1−ヘ キセン、またはα−メチルスチレンである、請求項37記載の方法。 39.前記水添異性化炭化水素生成物の臭素価が約0.04−約1.5の範囲内 である、請求項34または37記載の水添異性化炭化水素生成物。 40.一種以上のビニリデンオレフィンを含有する重合体であって、この重合体 が、周期表IVb族の遷移金属の化合物とアルミノキサンとを含む一部位触媒の 存在下に得られたものである、重合体。 41.一種以上のビニリデンではないオレフィンを更に含有する、請求項40記 載の重合体。 42.前記ビニリデンオレフィンがCH2=CR1R2の構造のものであり、R1と R2とが、炭素原子数1から20個のアルキル基、アリール基およびアラルキル 基から独立して選択されている、請求項40記載の重合体。 43.R1がメチル基および炭素原子数1−20の脂肪族ヒドロカルビル基から独 立して選択されており、R2がメチル基、フェニル基、アリール基、アラルキル 基、および炭素原子数1−20の脂肪族ヒドロカルビル基から独立して選択され ている、請求項42記載の重合体。 44.ビニリデンではない前記オレフィンがα−オレフィンである、請求項41 記載の重合体。 45.前記重合体が、2−メチルプロペンと、エテン、プロペン、エチリデン ノルボルネン、および4−メチルペンテンからなる群より選ばれたオレフィンと の共重合体である、請求項40記載の重合体。 46.前記重合体が、2−メチルプロペンと、エテンと、プロペン、スチレン、 α−メチルスチレン、エチリデン ノルボルネン、および非共役ジエンからなる 群より選択されているオレフィンとのターポリマーである、請求項40記載の重 合体。 47.前記重合体が、2−メチルプロペンと、プロピレンと、α−メチルスチレ ン、ノルボルネンおよび4−メチルペンテンからなる群より選ばれたオレフィン とのターポリマーである、請求項40記載の重合体。 48.前記重合体が、2−メチルプロペンと、4−メチルペンテンと、スチレン およびノルボルネンからなる群より選ばれたオレフィンとのターポリマーである 、請求項40記載の重合体。 49.前記重合体が2−メチルプロペン、ノルボルネンおよびスチレンのターポ リマーである、請求項40記載の重合体。 50.基油として請求項1、2、3、16、20、21、33、39または40 に記載の重合体を含有しており、有効量の少なくとも一種の潤滑油添加剤を 含有している、潤滑油。
