Abstract

This power module substrate with a heat sink is provided with: a power module substrate (10) provided with a ceramic substrate (11) a circuit layer (12) and a metal layer (13); and a heat sink (18) that is joined to the metal layer (13) with a solder layer (17) therebetween and comprises copper or a copper alloy. The metal layer (13) is formed by joining an aluminum sheet to the ceramic substrate (11) said aluminum sheet containing 99.0 mass% to 99.85 mass% of aluminum. The solder layer (17) is formed by a solid solution curable solder material containing tin as the primary component and a solid solution element that solidifies in the parent phase of the tin.
