Abstract
931,356. Hot water boilers. DUNSLEY HEATING APPLIANCE CO. Ltd. March 21, 1962 [March 21, 1961], No. 10198/61. Class 126. [Also in Group XIII] In a boiler fitting within an open fireplace and forming at least part of the side cheeks of the fireplace, a side flue is formed within the cheek of the boiler with its inlet in the side wall. The boiler has a rear part 10 with a forwardly inclined part 14 forming a fireback when the boiler is in position, and a vertical lower part 12 and side parts 16, 18 forming the cheeks of a fireplace. A back flue with an inlet 24 and outlet 26 passes up through the boiler, and side flues with inlets 30 and outlets 32 pass up the widest parts of the cheeks 16, 18. A sliding damper, Fig. 2, located by guides 36, and stop-bar 38 controls the side and back flues, a flange 34 preventing the damper being moved too far back. The boiler may be an auxiliary boiler, for fitting in a fireplace with a back boiler as described in Specification 717,329, [Group XIII], in which case the back flue is omitted. A loose box-shaped cover with a damper controlled outlet in its top may extend over the side flues. The cover may be formed to fit over an existing boiler damper operating rod.
