[Also in Group XIII] A double deck electricallyheated bakers' oven 1, has dampers 3 and 4 controlling rear openings 8 and 9 communicating with the jacket space 10 surrounding a hot water boiler 5, the space 10 communicating with a waste steam pipe 15 controlled by a damper 30 and opening into a canopy 24 at the front of the oven and connected at one end to a flue 26. The boiler feed water from a tank 16 is preheated by passing through a base 17 disposed in the pipe 15 and/or through a copper pipe 18 disposed in a support pipe 20 in the upper oven chamber. A drain channel 21 suspended below the pipe 20 extends downwardly into the opening 3. The boiler 5 may supply radiators in the bakery or may be used to steam the bakery atmosphere. The oven chambers may be flooded with steam from the boiler 5 via the space 10 and the openings 8 and 9, by slightly opening the oven doors 25, closing the waste pipe damper 30, and opening the boiler to the space 10 by a valve (not shown). Similarly, in the event of a power failure, the heat in the oven chambers may be maintained without serious loss by connecting the hose 17 to a fuel-heated auxiliary boiler, the steam in the space 10 being then heated from the boiler 5.
