Abstract
652,042. Firegrates. HAGLEY, J. A. Dec. 18, 1947, No. 33465. [Class 126] A grate for a domestic heating system comprises circular firebars between which are disposed rabbling means which may be moved about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the grate. An airheating stove is provided with a water boiler surrounding three sides of the combustion chamber at the bottom of which is a grate comprising three circular firebars 24, 25, 26, mounted on radial webs 27 and provided with radial rabbling arms 33 having fingers 33a, 33b, which project between the firebars 24, 25, 26. The rabbling arms are operated from outside the stove by a handle 34. A rotary damper controls the passage of combustion products directly from the combustion chamber or after passing over the boiler to a byepass flue or an air-heating flue of a heat-exchanger. Forced draught supplied to the combustion chamber is automatically shut off when the turret-type door is opened. Specifications 588,625, [Group XIII], and 650,885 are referred'to.
