[Class 126] A gas heated cooker is divided by a steel partition 14 into a cooking chamber containing a detachable oven 12 and a combustion space 11 connected to the external atmosphere by an air inlet conduit 36 and a combustion products flue 40, the admission of air to the conduit 36 being controlled by an adjustable damper 43 so that the pressure in the space 11 is sub-atmospheric and the leakage of combustion products into the room or oven is prevented. The oven 12 which is formed with a lagged top 18, bottom 19, and side walls 20, 21 slides on guides 17 secured to the partition 14. The space 11 is fitted with two gas burners 39, 35 provided with pilot jets. The combustion products from the burner 39 pass between firebricks 38 and through a flue 16 below the hot plate 13 to the flue 40 and the combustion products from the burner 35 pass between a lagged wall 34 and the partition 14 to the flue 16. The wall 34 is connected to partition 14 by fins 34a. The partition 14 is formed at each side with vertical fins 14a to communicate heat to the air in the space between the partition 14 and the wall 20. This space communicates by openings 24 above and below the wall 20 with the oven space so that circulation of the hot air through the oven is caused by convection as described in Specification 551,041. The hot plate 13 is fitted with removable covers 33 each consisting of casings containing heat insulating material. The gas burner supply pipe 42 is led to the space 11 through the conduit 36. The space 11 is fitted with an inspection door 28 which is opened when the pilot jets are to be lighted.
