Abstract

Gas cooKing and heating stoves; heat reflectors; dampers. - A gas cooking-stove convertible into a heating stove comprises a jacketed space around the oven containing a burner 4 and having a part 1 of the outer wall in front of the burner movable, so that the burner may be exposed and a sheet 7 of asbestos or other refractory material placed between it and the oven. In the construction shown, the sides 1 of the outer casing are hinged at their upper edges and retained in the raised position by rack bars 8 or 10. The burners extend upwards in front of the asbestos and may be substantially T-shaped, as shown, or of U-form having the vertical limbs perforated. The gases leave the jacket through a damper-controlled outlet 11 leading to the flue, there being 'also an outlet 14 in the top of the stove which is controlled by a cap 15 having a screwed stem 16.
