Cooking-stoves. - A cooking-stove comprises a burner-chamber and an oven, side by side, and an horizontal chamber above the burner-chamber and in communication with it, having outlets to the atmosphere and to the oven controlled by interconnected dampers. In the stove shown, the burners 4 are arranged in the chamber 6, above which is the horizontal chamber 18, the top of which forms a hot-plate. The combustion products pass into the chamber 18 through the openings 11, and thence either through a waste-heat chamber 25 to the flue 26, or to the oven 19, according to the positions of the interconnected dampers 21, 24 which are arranged so that, when one is open, the other is closed. Air is supplied to the chamber 18 through an inlet 14 at the end and a central inlet 16 formed in a hollow transverse partition, and controlled by a damper 17. The damper 17, when raised, divides the chamber 18 and confines the heating effects of the burners to the space immediately above them. A separate burner 28 is provided for heating the oven, air being supplied through the opening 30. The burners 4 are of star-formation and are removable for cleaning, being held in sheet-metal brackets 35 which are formed with supporting surfaces 36 having inturned portions 38 to receive one arm of the star. The brackets are supported by horizontal portions 40 which engage the top edges of annular water-heaters 7 arranged above the burners.
