Oil cooking-stoves; incandescent gas fires; baffles.-A vapour burner or burners, adapted to be supplied with liquid-fuel from a vertically adjustable tank, is or are located within a chamber or chambers in a stove or the like, each burner being associated with a baffling cap-device mounted at the top of the chamber containing the burner and extending into a casing above the chamber. In one form of cooking stove as, shown in Figs. 9 and 10, comprising ovens v<1> and heating compartments w<1>, burner e<1> is mounted in guides i<11> on a platform h<11> in a compartment g<11>, at the top of which are mounted two caps r' extending into a fire-box x<1> and a tubular radiator x<11> respectively so that the burner can be placed under either cap. Each cap comprises inclined spaced members s<1> depending from a flat top to form lateral openings for the flame and terminating in a dome-shaped member t<1>, attached to a tubular member f<11> secured to the oven plate b<11>. The fire-box x<1> and radiator x<11> open into a space between a top oven plate a<11> and a hot plate z<1>, baffles p<11> being provided to divert the products of combustion passing to a rear space d<11> and a regulated outlet c<11>. Air regulators at m<11> and preferably below detachable air inlet tubes j<11> and at the base of the fire-box x<1> and radiator x<11> are provided. Fireclay or the like, preferably made up in a frame, may be placed in the fine-box x<1> or radiator x<11>, the former being provided with bars and a door y<1>. A modified form of cap, as shown in Fig. 1, comprises a tubular member s<x> leading to lateral flame openings u and secured by a nut t to a perforated top of a burner chamber, air holes v and an air-regulator q<x> being provided. The Provisional Specification describes also a stove in which a tubular radiator passes vertically through an oven, a baffling-cap being mounted above a burner on a perforated plate at the base of the radiator.
