Abstract

309,900. Braach, P., and Rosenberger, H. April 17, 1928, [Convention date]. Gas cooking - stoves; baffles; boilers, arrangement of; air supply for combustion.-The gases from the burner of a gas cooker are led upwards in a chamber and flow in contact with the underside of the. hot.-plate, after which they descend through a series of guiding or baffle plates pierced with apertures, the number of which diminishes in successive plates, and finally pass to a passage leading to the outlet flue. In the stove shown in Figs. 2 and 9, the gases pass from the hot-plate burners 1 downwards successively through a series of annular perforated baffles 3, 5, 7, 9, having respectively sixteen, eight, four and two, holes, symmetrically arranged as shown in Figs. 4 and 7, the former of which shows the top baffle plate, and the latter the bottom. The gases then pass through single openings 11 in surrounding casings 12 to the outlet flue. The ovens 34 are heated by a burner 35, the gases from which pass from flues surrounding them to a series of baffles 37, 39, 41, 43 in the side flues 44, and similarly provided respectively with eight, four, two, and a single aperture. A water-container 17 surrounds the baffle systems of both burners. A large stove is also illustrated in which single water containers each surround a group of four burners. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also modified constructions, that shown in Fig. 14 (Cancelled), comprising a series of concentric annular flues surrounding the cooking pot, after traversing which the gases pass through a series of baffles 50 - - 54, similar to those previously described. In another form, the baffles are formed by a concentric series of vertical perforated rings through which the gases pass laterally. Fig. 17 (Cancelled) shows a hot-plate burner from which the gases pass through an annular flue 63 to a discharge flue 65, and to which air is supplied through passages 64 extending through the bottom of the flue 63. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
