Gas cooking-stoves; covers.-In a gas cooking stove of the kind in which the gases from burners 15 pass up through flues 14 to an horizontal space beneath the hot-plate 6, from which they are discharged, the flues 14 being arranged within the oven so that heat is radiated from all their outer surfaces, one such flue of rectangular section is arranged adjacent to, but spaced from, each of the side walls, both flues being of a width substantially equal to the front-to-rear depth of the oven and being provided with means for retarding the flow of the hot gases through them. In the construction shown, the retardation is effected by making the outlets 17 at the top of the flues of less area than the cross-section of the flues. The tubular burners 15 are pivoted so that they may be swung outwardly from the front of the stove for lighting and cleaning. The hot-plate 6 has pot-holes 18 fitted with sliding covers 19 above the oven, and is formed with portions extending beyond the oven, which are provided with pot-holes 21 and burners 23, together with a griller 22 beneath which is a shelf 25.
