Closed solid-fuel stoves; combined solid-fuel and gas or oil stoves; gas cooking-stoves; baffles; boilers, arrangement of. - Two separate heating means are used wholly or partially acting on the same heating parts of a boiler for central heating. In the example, Fig. 1, the opposite slab-like walls 1, 2, of a fire chamber, with coal &c. grate 33, are provided with ribs or corrugations on both sides, those 8 on the outer sides serving to space the slabs from the insulating walls 6, 7 to provide flue spaces through which pass the gases from gae or liquid-fuel burners 4, 5. Separate flue connections are provided, the exit from the chamber 11 connected with the side flues being controlled by a register 15. In the modification, Fig. 4, additional water-walls 6<a>, 7<a>, are provided and a gas or liquid-fuel cooking range is shown combined with the boiler. In the cooker, gas burners 26 supply heat to roasting and baking ovens 25, 24, baffles 27 being provided.
