[Class 126.] A gas or oil cooking-stove comprises a combustion chamber A having a hot-plate D at its upper end and disposed at one side of a second chamber which is formed of inner and outer casings B', B<2> and is divided by hollow partitions J<1>, K forming cross flues, into separate cooking compartments B and an upper space for the reception of a waterheating tank L. The space G between the casings B<1>, B2 is fitted with stop-pieces J3 so arranged that the gases entering from the combustion chamber A through a port J<4> pass in a tortuous path around the ovens B and tank L. At the upper end of the stove, there are provided three independently-controlled waste gas outlets, of which one leads direct to the outside atmosphere, one to a central airheating system, and the third to a water-heating device disposed, for example, in a bath-room. A byepass flue M<1>, leading from the lower part of the stove to one of the outlets L<2> and fitted with a damper M2, enables the oven flues to be short-circuited when it is desired to use the stove for room-heating purposes only. The hot-plate D has the usual utensil-receiving openings D<1> which are provided, in addition to the covers D<2>, with dampers E for controlling the admission of hot gases to the openings. The lower part of the combustion chamber A is fitted with an oil lamp or a gas burner C and an auxiliary burner F may be provided below one of the openings in the hot-plate D.
