Abstract
588,797. Cooking stoves. C.U.R.A. PATENTS, Ltd., and HALES, J. S. March 7, 1945, No. 5688. [Class 126] In a cooking stove of the type consisting of an oven surrounded by a passage through which heated air circulates and a fireplace supplying heat to walls of the said passage and also to additional apparatus, e.g., a hotplate, a controllable inlet and outlet are provided in the said passage. The fireplace 1 supplies heat to a hotplate 5 and to air in the passage 2 surrounding the oven 3, through walls 4, 8. The inlet 9 and outlet 12 may be controlled by dampers 10 and 13 respectively cunnected through the bell crank 16 and rotated by an external knob 17 or by a thermostat responsive to oven temperatures. In a modification either the inlet or the outlet 12, singly, may be damper controlled. The outlet 12 may alternatively discharge into the atmosphere and the oven may be lagged as at 18 on the side nearest to the fireplace.
