564,857. Gas cooking stoves. GENERAL GAS APPLIANCES, Ltd., and BENNETTS, H. C. W. May 22, 1943, No. 8155. [Class 126] In a gas cooker fitted with a thermostaticallycontrolled gas valve g, the heat-sensitive element f of the thermostat is located outside the oven e in a byepass tube a through which part only of the hot gases from the oven flow. As shown, the tube a is arranged above the oven at one side of the space below the grill burner and communicates with the interior of the oven through a vertical tube b. The gases passing into the tube a may either escape to atmosphere through a valved outlet k or return to the oven through a second vertical tube c ; by suitable setting of the valve k escape to atmosphere and return to the oven may take place simultaneously.
