[Class 126] [See also Group XIII] In a stove, e.g., a heat-accumulator stove, the source of heat is controlled by thermostatic means which are shrouded or shielded from the direct action of the flue gases and are arranged so that while responsive to the temperature of the cooking or other heatconsumption point, or points, they are subjected to a temperature which, irrespective of varying heat-consumption conditions, is substantially proportional to the temperature of the firebox or combustion chamber. The thermostat 6, controlling the air supply valve, is mounted with its bulb or equivalent element in a tube 7, which is divided by a wall 8 into two parts. Part 6<a> of the bulb is in one part 7<a> of the tube, and part 6b in the other part 7b of the tube. The tube 7<a> is in contact with and subject to the temperature of the heat accumulator composed of the inner and outer barrels 3, 4. A tube 9 which passes around the lower end of the inner barrel 3, as shown, or of the outer barrel 4, is connected to the tube 7<b>. A current of air passing through the tubes 9, 7b is heated to a temperature lower than, but proportional to, the temperature of the firebox 2. The volume or speed of air flow through the tubes 9, 7<b> may be adjusted. In stoves operating on liquid or gaseous fuel, the fuel supply may be adjusted by thermostatic means.
