Abstract
848,097. Air heating stoves. NATIONAL HEATER CO. Inc. May 21, 1957, No 16165/57. Class 64(1) An air heating stove comprises an elongated horizontal combustion chamber 21 having inwardly sloping sides terminating upwardly in an apex 22 and above which is mounted a group of tubes 50 through which the combustion gases from the chamber 21 pass on their way to a flue 56. A casing 10 surrounds and is spaced from the combustion chamber and tube assembly and is provided with an inlet 19 for cold air and outlets 20 for heated air, the air being forced by blowers upwardly over the outer surface of the combustion chamber wall and then over the tubes 50 before passing to the outlets 20. The tubes 50'become more widely spaced nearer the top of the casing. The burner 33 may be oil or gas fired or a combination of oil or gas burners may be used.
