Class 64(1) An air heating stove comprises a combustion chamber 3 surrounded by a jacket 8 in which the air is heated, the air being delivered to the jacket and being given a rotational movement therethrough by a fan 9 of the semi-axial flow type so canstructed that the ratio of the tangential and axial components of velocity of flow of the air flowing from the fan wheel is within the range of 1.1 to 3.5, preferably 1.5 to 2.5. In the form shown the combustion chamber is fired by an oil burner 4 and the hot combustion gases pass upwardly to the chimney 7 by way of tubes 5 over which air from the jacket 8 may flow before reaching the one or more outlets 10 for heated air.
