Abstract
780,925. Air heating stores. HOCHHEIM, L., [trading as HOCHHEIM MASCHINEFABRIK, F.]. May 1, 1956, No. 13444/56. Class 64(1) An air heating apparatus comprises a recuperator mounted on a combustion shaft 1 and having an annular chamber 7 formed by two casings 6, 8, the inner casing 6 being divided by a partition 9 into a flue gas chamber 2 and a cold air chamber 4 having an opening K for cold air, means whereby the cold air may pass from the chamber 4 through, the chamber 2 to the chamber 7, and an outlet W from the chamber 7 for the escape of heated air. Combustion of a solid, liquid or gaseous fuel takes place in the shaft 1 and the flue gases pass through the chamber 2 and pipes 5, 10 into the chimney. The cold air is preheated b contact with the pipes 5 and partition 9 before passing through pipes 3 to the chamber 7. On the preferred embodiment three outlets W, which may be fitted with adjustable discharge grids or be connected to hot air supply pipes, are provided. The opening K may be constructed to receive air from a motor-driven fan. An insulating jacket 11 may be provided.
