Abstract

726,603. Air heating stoves. JET-HEET, Inc. April 30, 1953 [May 16, 1952], No. 11952/53. Class 64 (1). An air heater comprises a cylindrical casing 18 containing a coaxial heat exchanger having a central chamber 38 surrounded by two spiral passages A, B one receiving air to be heated from motordriven air compressor 70 axially mounted at one end and the other receiving hot gases from the central chamber 38 which has a burner 49 axially mounted at one end and an opposite end wall 46 against which the hot gases impinge. The air compressor also forces cooling air against the outside of the end wall 46, e.g. through openings 92, 96 in the end walls of two casings 22, 94 surrounding the motor 68. A duct 106, Fig. 1, or a duct 108, Fig. 4, extending through the central space 38 from the wall 46 to a casing 20 enclosing the burner, conveys air from the heat exchanger to the burner for combustion. The remainder of the heated air flows from a space 102 at the centre of one end of the spiral passage' A into a duct 110 with outlet pipes 104. Specification 633,569 is referred to.
