Abstract

1310740 Air heaters DUNHAM BUSH Inc 15 Dec 1970 [25 June 1970] 59598/70 Heading F4S A gas fired forced flow air heater 10, comprises an outer casing 11, an inner jacket 20 within and spaced from the casing 11, and a cubic stainless steel heat exchanger 21 which defines a combustion chamber within and spaced from the inner jacket 20. Return air from opening 26 is drawn through the space between the outer casing and inner jacket to chamber 27 and enters blower 28 which discharges it through outlet 29A into the space within inner jacket 20 around heat exchanger 21. The air flows upwardly around heat exchanger 21 and through tubes 21A, 21A<SP>1</SP> extending therethrough to an upper air supply outlet duct 24. Combustion air, drawn through vents (not shown) in the front face of the outer casing 11, or through a sealed duct system (not shown) is supplied by blower 34, driven from the same motor as blower 30, to burner assembly 23 which fires into the combustion chamber, the combustion products exhausting via outlet 38. Optionally a cooling coil may be located adjacent the air supply outlet duct 24. The air heater may be mounted horizontally instead of vertically.
